Chucho Fencing
We bought a new house from DR Horton and Chucho Fencing built the fence separating the back yard from neighbors for us. The fence included ,on side of house, one gate which was $300. Total cost for fence on two sides was $3,847. The young girl who did the bid for her husband's business was very nice. As they were building the fence in back we noticed it was off and not same height as existed fence. They did correct it. What we didn't' notice was how poorly the gate was installed. They had attached it to side of house which should never be done. You never attach a fence to a house because of the different rate of expansion of house and fencing.
This is a rental house and we rented to military couple with no kids. The side yard gate is seldom used. Our renter called and said the gate is coming loose from side of house where Chucho had nailed a couple of 2x4's and then attached gate to that instead of using a sturdy post set in concrete in ground. Chucho Co. made it look like the two 2x4 that were nailed were post in ground by burying the bottoms of the 2x4s a couple inches into ground.
When I called Celia, the young woman who gave us the bid, to say we were disappointed with her husband’s company’s work and asked why it wasn't built more sturdy by putting a post in ground instead on nailing to side of house. She said everyone does it that way. She accused me of slamming gate and that is why it was coming loose.
I asked that they please fix it and she said they won't and if I knew so much about fencing I could fix it myself. She hung up on me.
