We got 4 quotes from numerous roofing companies. Since we are both seniors, we live on a fixed income. We took the lowest quote and hoped for the best. Well...first Shawn never called to let us know when they would be starting the job. They showed up early one Monday morning. Worked for about 2 hours and went to lunch. Came back and worked til 3:30 PM. Came back next day and worked for about 2 hours and went to lunch. As far as I know, they didn't come back and work anymore that day. They grabbed their equipment tho. The next day my husband got a call at work from Shawn saying needed half the money that day even tho the contract said "payment due upon completion of job". Shawn was going to pick the check up from my husband at work or at the house later in the afternoon. He called later and said he couldn't make it. That he will meet my husband at his place of business the next morning. But now, he needs payment in full. Mind you the roof is about 1/4 finished. Shawn showed up and collected the check. He told us he would bring the warranty paperwork by later. But we never heard from him again. The roofers came and finished the roof two days later. When they were all finished most of my windows were splattered with who knows what and need to be cleaned, our weather machine on the roof was damaged and we have no warranty info. Also, one of the roofers was arguing with me about whether there was a clay tile roof on the house when we bought it. He probably wasn't even born when we bought the house. The whole experience was a nightmare. We are in the process of filing a complaint with the State of Oregon. Mailing the certified letter tomorrow
