My wife and I love our new home and we are grateful to everyone at Citrus Hills who helped us throughout the building process. Highly recommend this team to anyone looking to build their dream home here.

We are having the same issues as the reviews listed above. We are in the second phase of the building process. We completed P & D 6 weeks ago. No one has reached out to us. I called two weeks after P & D to see where we are in the process. Deanna was extremely rude.Basically said that what we were told was the timeline from P& D was incorrect. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. In the last 4 weeks I have left 3 messages asking for a call back. No one has called me back. We paid them $225,000 and they are ghosting us. Not a good way to do business.

Buyer BEWARE .... once the home purchase is completed , do not expect
to have issues corrected and the warranty is really a joke.
Don't waste any time or money trying to deal with the contractor to "fix" or correct issues that do not appear until after the closing. .. get a lawyer and sue the !!!%*##'s I am in the process of trying to develop a class action for the many buyers that have ongoing issues. -

I want to say right up front that we do not regret moving to Citrus County, Florida in particular and Citrus Hills in general. Nor do we regret dealing with Citrus Hills Construction in hindsight. It beats anything to the south or east where hoards of people, copious traffic and significantly higher costs of living prevail.
So why did I only give Citrus Hills Construction a mere three stars!? It’s because you should be prepared to ask them the right questions when it comes time to make decisions on building within their community. We were not totally prepared and ended up in an adversarial relationship after putting down a non-refundable deposit.
Here are the questions you need to ask them before signing on the bottom line. If you get the answers that are acceptable to you, then by all means join us!
1. May I go through a preliminary planning session so the approximate total construction cost of your home is agreed upon before I put down a non-refundable deposit? The base costs seem totally reasonable after looking at the models because they are loaded with upgrades. That base cost is only a bare bones construction price. Beware of the costs of associated upgrades. Ask for specifics, not generalities!
2. Are the social amenities that you are showing me available on a year round basis, including the summer months when snow birds return North? There have been occasions in the past where restaurant hours have been curtailed on a rotational basis in order to cut back costs when demand is lower in the summer. This has created problems with year round residents.
3. For Golfers: May I play on at least two of the golf courses so I can make an assessment of whether I will decide on a charter golf membership? The SkyView golf course is a premier layout that is maintained in pristine condition, but if that is what is luring the golfer in your family here, you need to ask about the total up front and ongoing annual costs of a charter membership to that course. If it is beyond what you wish to pay, you need to see what the conditions are on the other two courses they offer for play.Good luck with your choices and we hope to see you here!

My experience with Citrus Hills construction was not satisfactory. Walls don’t line up for future pocket doors. There is not enough cement on the outer walls so the rebar shows. They did not give me the kitchen I signed up and paid for. Be very careful when your plans say “ as per notes” because the notes I got from the cabinet maker was not the same that was built. The same went for the bathroom.. If you can rent a home and watch every aspect of the construction you have a better chance of success. I believe there are better quality builders in Citrus Co. but you would be giving up the Activities Club which is awesome. Finally, don’t let them bully you into signing papers. There is a Closer guy.....forgot his name....but your salesman puts you in a room with him for the pressure sales. Go there on a Friday so you have all weekend to change your mind and stop the check.

Dishonest and Incompetent!
The sales team will promise you anything to get you to sign a contract. Make sure all promises are in writing. Once you sign a contract there is no incentive for them to respond to your calls, emails, or texts. They have moved on to their next victim.
Instead of being excited about our new home I am disgusted with the lack of progress, incompetency mistakes and no urgency to get anything done. Citrus Hills Construction is a circus run by a bunch of incompetent clowns. Permitting delays caused by submitting plans for the wrong model home are down played as minor mistake. When asked how could this happen, everything was clearly written in the contract, “The engineers don’t read the contract”. If your looking for a home builder, my advise is to look elsewhere, get every single detail in writing, any verbal promises are just hearsay, get everything in writing.
