    New Home Build

    Thoroughly enjoyed building our home with Classic Builders. After looking at multiple builders in the area, it is evident that Classic can offer the best home with the highest level of finishes included in their standard pricing. Definitely recommending Classic Builders to anyone looking to build a new home.

    They do great work - fantastic craftsmanship and innovative floor plans. When building homes things can go wrong and you can't make everyone happy. But for these group to build 300+ homes a year - they are doing something right. They are best in Des Moines

    New home

    The worst. I'm amazed the local papers always put them in such a good light. Just use Google and you'll see MANY of unhappy customers.
    We bought last year and even before closing we had trouble. One of the owners Heath is a real piece of work, power tripping nasty piece of work. He's rude, unprofessional and MANY people we've dealt with have made comments how hard it is to work for him, or with him. I should have listened to my realtor who said they were difficult to deal with. Sadly for us, I didn't push the issue now I understand. They pass blame to everyone from the original developer, grading company's even neighbors. They take ZERO responsibility for low-class cheap work. As of today, I'm dealing with lawyers, engineers because the water easement in my yard that is supposed to run to a creek 4 homes down is in fact all running to my yard. They graded wrong way! Also, we are being told I'm about 3ft of on one side of home, meaning the neighbors run of on side falls to me. on other side the entire yard drains to home. I've been told I need to get someone out here and see if my foundation has been effected. now being told I couldn't sell home with the known issues. looking at a ballpark of 50K to fix it all. Please PLEASE save yourself.

    Cheryl, we have had multiple discussions with you and your husband in person and over the phone regarding the grading and drainage of your home. At the time of your closing the City of Ankeny issued a occupancy permit stating that the structure, lot grading and drainage meet their requirements. The City of Ankeny's engineering department verifies prior to Occupancy that this meets the plat that was submitted for the area prior to homes were built. To our knowledge, the city has verified that the grading and drainage are still correct.

    Terrible follow up after sale

    I bought a new home from them 2 months ago, do not expect things to get done once they have made the sale. I have had several warranty issues that required quick attention due to it causing me property liability and they are not quick to respond and still do the job poorly and have to be called back out. Things included popped deck boards, gutter issues and sod damage in an attempt to fix something. I have had to make a report to the BBB. I would not use these guys to build your home! They need to focus on quality, not quantity!!!
