If I could give no stars I would, Steve does not even deserve 1 star. Do not hire this shady contractor. He does 1/2 ass work. My husband and I had a not so good experience with this guy. I too got ripped off well over $5000 for shoddy work for a bathroom redo. The shower floor was not pitched correctly to chips in tiles ripping out our toilet flange so that we had to pay even more money and he could not even do niches that we had to hire someone else to do the niches! That right there was a red flag and my heart sank so there was no other choice than to get rid of him halfway through the job. He also left all the trash in our driveway after making out with over $5000. How could someone feel so good about doing this to people!!?? 6 words, do not hire this guy EVER.

We've lived in our 110 year old home for over 30 years. Steve Cecere is, without a doubt, the absolute WORST contractor with whom we have ever dealt. He ripped us off and still has not refunded our money despite numerous texts, messages, etc. He never completed more than half the work in the contract. His work is unbelievably shoddy. Painted ceilings still show stains. There are also speckles of paints on everything from our banister to an expensive desk chair. Resealed tub didn't last a week. Filing a complaint with the state and meeting with a lawyer next week. Homeowner beware. This guy is a nightmare.

I hired Steve Cecere for a few relatively small jobs, two of them being; hanging a prefab mantel and putting up crown moulding around fireplace chimney (both of which I had purchased materials). On August 29, he quoted me $350 and I paid him a deposit of $150. On August 31 he called to say he would be by to start and asked for the rest of the money, prior to doing anything. I gave him another $100 and this is what I ended up with: He glued the mantel to the brick and he cut the moulding to be flush, not at a 45-degree angle. I had someone else look at the work and it was not done correctly, which I already knew. He never came back after repeated contact even though he told me he would. Look him up online in police reports, I wish I had before I gave him my money.

Steve Cicero is one of the best contractors in the state . He is capable of performing all aspects of construction with extreme efficientcy and with outstanding workmanship. He is very knowledgeable about any form of work. He is very dependable.his prices are very resonable. I was very lucky to have him as my contractor.

Steve cecere is probably one of the best contractors in the state. He is the most reasonable,he is efficient in his work , he is extremely dependable, his workmanship is exacting, he can build a home from top to bottom and is capable of performing any task.i am extremely gratefully to have had him as my contractor

Permits

Stay away from Mr. Cecere and his "company" Classic Style Renovations. Do not let him into your house or anywhere near.
Where do I start the list of terrible disappointments?
We hired him to re-tile our upstairs bathroom. That was a very expensive mistake.
First of all, Mr. Cecere's Home Improvement Contractor Lisence AND his Construction Supervisor License are both TERMINATED and NOT VALID at the time of this writing. Even worse, they were NOT valid during the period when he did work on our house. If you do not believe me, please feel free to check the official Mass.gov website.
Second, is Mr. Cecere's communication. It was never known when he would be coming or when he wouldn't, and even when we did hear from him, there were multiple no-shows that were not communicated nor explained, which extended the length of the project.
Third, is the damage done to our house. Starting right at the beginning of the project, we could already tell we made a mistake hiring him. Mr. Cecere left 3 holes that went straight through our bathroom walls into a bedroom. Accidents happen, but he did not even have the deceny to inform us of the several holes in the bedroom/bathroom shared wall. It was only until we checked out his "work" that we found the damage. Mr. Cecere patched the holes after we told him, but it left us needing to repaint the wall of the bedroom.
After he "finished" the job and left for good (thank goodness) we discovered more damage. Underneath the sink there was a large piece of wall with a hole through it. There was no effort to hide it or patch it at all. Mr. Cecere did not tell us of this damage either. We had to patch this ourselves.
Fourth, is his lack of attention to detail. The tiles Mr. Cecere installed were all crooked. Not a single one was even with the one next to it. It looks like he blindly put them up and just left them there, a severe lack of expertise. The grout in between the tiles was cracking after the first day, it seems he did not apply nearly enough, or did not allow sufficient time to set. We had to re-grout the tiles ourselves.
The paint job throughout the bathroom was laughable at best. There were several spots where there was not enough paint and the color was inconsistent. There were even missed spots. Mr Cecere managed to somehow get the dark paint for the wall on the ceiling and neglected to tell us. Due to this, we had to repaint both the walls and the ceiling of the bathroom ourselves too.
The plumbing was abysmal as well. It was interesting, because we heard Mr. Cecere testing the shower, so we assumed that the shower was leak-free and worked well. That was not true, of course. He left broken joints, incorrectly joined pipes, and leaks everywhere. Pipes were unsecured and loose. This caused us to have to do our own plumbing and pipes ourselves, which was a nightmare itself.
All of this came with general carelessness and frankly a rude demeanor during the length of the project. Do not do business with Mr. Cecere. He is an unlisened, unprofessional, inconsistent worker that does things the cheapest and easiest way for him, caring nothing for the quality of the work or the house of his client. Your money, time, and house will be much happier at the hands of someone that knows what they are doing. Do not make the same mistake we did.
