FYI.....NEVER USE JAMES CLAUSSEN CONSTRUCTION! We thought we were getting a great deal when he quoted a price that was too good to be true to help us renovate our rental property and he did do a great job at first. We expected to pay more than his quote because we didn't feel it was very realistic. What was supposed to take three weeks, turned into three months and after charging us over double the original quote, he up and left without completing all the work we originally agreed upon. Now we did change up a couple of things, which increased the work as well, but at least finish the job. Towards the end of the three months, his work was getting very sloppy, so much so that we would ask him to redo things. He complained when My husband asked him to paint the stair railing, which was part of the original quote. He never finished laying the carpet and laid the pergola the wrong way. My husband had to rip it up and is laying it correctly himself. We have had to call the store where we purchased the carpet to give us a quote to finish laying the carpet and we still have more painting to finish and backsplash to finish. Needless to say, we learned a valuable lesson. To top it off, we have attempted to contact James Claussen and he will not return any of our phone calls or texts. Shame on you James Claussen Construction!!!
