Working with Ben and his crew was a great experience. Ben always kept us informed and his crew was so polite and hard working. There were no surprises along the way because Ben took everything into consideration professionally and knew what he was doing. I would HIGHLY recommend him for any projects.

Working with Ben Hansen and Claymark Homes was a wonderful choice my wife and I made to put James Hardie siding on our home. I had contacted several companies and Ben was the first to return my call and come out and look at what we were wanting accomplished and provided an estimate in a very timely manner. Ben was always in contact with us throughout the entire process. Once he stated the project he was with us every step of the way. His crew did a fantastic job and we are very happy with the outcome on our house. I would definitely recommend Ben Hansen and Claymark Homes. He will be the one I reach out to for any future needs.

By Elizabeth K.September 30, 2020Repair damage to ceilings and walls after plumbing was replacedRead more
In the past I have posted glowing reviews for Ben Hansen and Claymark Homes. I thought they had done a good job on our window project. Our most recent project was not positive by any stretch of the imagination. In March this year I contracted them to repair damage done to the ceiling in my family room and to my half bath when I had the plumbing replaced in my house. The work was a disaster from the beginning. I removed everything from the room with the exception of an Oriental rug, a leather sofa and chair and a TV cabinet. I asked if those things needed to be removed and was assured they did not and that they would cover everything with plastic. I left the house to run an errand; and when I returned, I discovered wet plaster on my UNCOVERED furniture and rug and dust everywhere. While I knew there would be dust, they made no attempt to reduce the mess.
Ben and his subcontractor promised to be present for the project, but they were nowhere to be found for most of it. After the project was done, I began to see examples of shoddy workmanship. They chipped a corner off the crown molding, and there was a half-inch gap between the wall and the molding. They had HAMMERED the molding back up, denting it. Paint was slopped on the molding. They did not adequately sand the walls before repainting, and the surface was very noticeably uneven. After complaining, I was assured that it would all be taken care of. I was also told he wasn’t so sure that the damage to the molding wasn’t pre-existing (so I was basically accused of lying—I have photo evidence the damage was done by his crew). Ben came once to “fix” the crown molding (which was to slap on filler and stain) for the dents and to reposition the molding. Then I discovered there was a giant half-inch blob of filler at one end of the molding which looks awful. Ben was to come back to complete the work. Months later and more excuses than I can count, I gave up and did the work myself, knowing full well his work would not be satisfactory. He threatened to share my “comments” with his staff as if I care.I have never encountered such a home improvement disaster and highly suggest you find other options if you’re considering Claymark Homes for your project. This guy has a big chip on his shoulder and is his own worst enemy.

Working with Ben (owner) has been a terrible experience. He repeatedly breaks commitments for scheduled work and to come out to provide a bid. Then you don't hear from him at all. I've left repeated messages just trying to get some work done and Ben doesn't respond. When I do finally talk to him, he's really smooth and nice on the phone but then he never follows through with his promises. I encourage anyone to find another contractor. Ben and Claymark Homes will disappoint you.

My husband, a disabled veteran, and I contracted with Ben Hansen of Claymark Homes to replace the front window on our home in 2020. We paid Mr. Hansen money down to cover the cost of the window. Ben Hansen did not deliver or install the window as he promised many times. Mr. Hansen has not refunded our money either. He always has an excuse for everything. We finally had to pay another contractor recently to do the work because the wood around the window was rotting out so bad. Wood rot was the reason we hired Ben in the first place. We certainly will never recommend or use Ben Hansen and Claymark Homes ever again.
