Worst company ever. When you call their number and dial the number for tech support it answers, "mailbox full" and hangs up. Customer service people are unable to provide information and transfer me to the tech manager. He never answers and never returns my calls. Still waiting after 8 months for them to install the monitoring chip so I can see the power production. I have no idea if the system is performing as promised.

Sure, the company might look good from a numbers/permits perspective, but just do a search for reviews on the customer side of things. They have one of the worst customer services I have ever seen from a "professional" company. They charge a premium for the product and service, yet they deliver sub-premium results. Sales Rep misleads you on the loan details, taxes breaks, and payment structure. Installers do not coordinate with the homeowner on the layout and/or wiring. They charge you for additional items that should be included. The office has no idea what is happening, people showing up unannounced, wrong information, wrong parts, missing parts, etc. Foreman never returns a phone call, the sales rep has no clue how to answer, so he calls the foreman and calls you back ... sometimes. The panels are in, and I think it's working ... but no one has called to set me up for the monitoring. They also miss-figured how many panels I would need, still making payments to the electrical company AND the loan company. Very disappointed.

I would definitely recommend Clear Solar. Before choosing them, I got estimates from three other solar companies. Two were considerably higher on price. The third was similar on price but offered a 20-year warranty rather than the 25-year warranty of Clear Solar. Our average monthly electric bill has gone from $105 to $25.
We received the two tax credits, and because we purchased our panels rather than leasing them, we are also able to claim depreciation over a 5-year period. In other words, with the two tax credits, which totaled $8,000, and the $4,000 tax benefit that will come with depreciation, our $20,000 cash purchase price was effectively reduced to $8,000.
