We hired Cody Wood (CLW construction) for a basement remodel. The project was started on June 17, 2022. Our basement is still not finished. On his website he has pictures of our project stating it was finished in September but, that is not the case. He still has a few things to finish, and we paid him in full and he continues to give us the runaround. He said multiple times that he would come out and does not show up with no phone call or text, so we are waiting around for him. We held up our end of the deal and paid him in full for all the work but, have yet to have it finished. I have been very surprised about how he has treated us after we paid him. I would not recommend him to anyone.
He had problems leveling our floor before putting in our flooring, we have multiple spots where the floors collapse. They had to put down the self-leveler multiple times and did not do a very good job. He said he could come back and put in a filler in the floor to help. But he tried to do that on another job, and he said it made it worse. We also had an end cabinet piece for him to install and he told us that the countertop company would install that for us. Which again was not the truth so we ended up installing that ourselves so we could have the countertops installed.
We were updating our bathroom at the same time through a different company. We asked him if he could install baseboards around the door and floors. Which he was happy to do, but we communicated to him what we wanted, and the wrong trim was put in. We made sure to talk to him multiple times about our basement trim to make sure he installed what we wanted.
Our project is the basement with the black barn door in it and he has failed to post the pictures of our unfished work.
