    This is an honest review after over a year of contracting with Coastal Design and Build.

    A project that was supposed to last "6-8 weeks" lasted 6 months with partial completion of landscaping. Everything once done requires immediate payment and anything wrong is a "warranty issue" per one of the owner and will be fixed "soon". Contracted for landscaping, hardscaping, pool renovation, and lanai construction. Lanai construction is so-so. Many gaps in wood, painting not included, it did pass inspection but it is not top tier professional. This was completed first and the workers that came out were respectful.

    Pool renovation went okay. It took a long time but they replaced all pipes, added returns and new LED lights. It was a long drawn out process. The pebble tec and coping and tiling went well.

    Hardscaping when their subcontractor Marlon is there is excellent. He's very smart and knowledgeable, but when he's not there you better check the work right after. They ordered the wrong techno bloc and said it was an upgrade, unfortunately they couldnt complete the herringbone pattern unless they individually cut each block.

    Landscaping was a complete nightmare, most trees were planted poorly with no mulch. They subcontracted with a team of two landscapers. Yes, just two. A new company came out and fixed their work in 1 week. It took them MONTHs to plant and often times days or weeks in between doing anything. The yard was so dirty with material left everywhere. I was told "its an active construction area so its going to be dirty" and made to feel that was acceptable.

    They couldn't finish last year so they promised they would via email by beginning of spring. Many trees died (10 total) and many boxwoods and tall grasses. Justin Booth, co owner promised many times the landscapers would come in May. Each time there was an excuse like "the landscaper wants to wait until everything blooms" and "they'll be there on monday when they finish another job". Ultimately they never came.

    I had a 5 year hardscape warranty, notified them in late winter of hardscaping issues, still not fixed. Buried downspout lines sloped incorrectly froze and broke, I fixed myself after 4 months of failed attempts for them to come out and fix. Plants dead with 1 year plant warranty, by mid June attempts for their company to fix were numbered and they agreed to pay another company. Now will not, continuing to say they will call next week, etc. During construction they hit and broke the gas meter, hit and damaged our kids play structure. I can go on and on.

    I was patient all spring and summer hoping they would honor their word but they do not John, one of the owners just flat out doesn't pick up the phone but is reasonable when you talk to him, pretty quiet guy but doesn't bullshit a time frame. Justin, will tell you anything to your face knowing its a lie and has no concept of timeframes for actual completion.

    If they were an honorable business and actually responded to warranty claims I would give this review a 3.5 but their professionalism knocks it down to a 1. Hardscaping craftsmanship is prbably a 3.5, coping and tiling pool 3.5. Construction services 2.5.

    Save yourself some energy and chose another company. This company now goes by Coastal Design and Build, not Creative Outdoor.
