I was referred to Justin Mason of Coastal Virginia Heating and Air LLC by a trusted coworker. When I first contacted Justin regarding two damaged AC units caused by a power surge, he responded promptly and professionally. He came to assess the damage, provided the necessary estimates for my insurance company, and everything moved forward smoothly.
The first unit was installed without issue, and even when a small problem came up afterward, Justin returned quickly to resolve it. Based on that experience, I felt confident I had found a reliable HVAC professional I could count on for the long term.
Unfortunately, that trust was broken during the second installation. We had a scheduled date and time, and I arranged for someone to be at the house—but no one showed up. Justin didn’t call, text, or offer any explanation. I reached out via text asking what happened. The message was clearly delivered, but I never received a response. I even let him know I’d be out of town until July 28 and that I was still willing to move forward if he would honor his word and communicate clearly. Again, no reply.
Adding to my frustration, I later discovered that the unit I paid nearly $13,000 for is actually at the low end of the efficiency range, which makes me question whether I got a fair deal. I also reached out today (July 29th) to ask about potential rebates through the manufacturer (Goodman) and noticed my text was never delivered—likely indicating I had been BLOCKED.
As a result, I now have to find another HVAC company to assess and handle the second unit. Justin’s complete disappearance from the project with no explanation or follow-up was disappointing and unprofessional. I now have no way to contact him or the company if anything goes wrong with the system he installed.
In short, while the beginning of this experience was excellent, it ended in a way that left me feeling misled and abandoned. I share this review not out of spite, but to caution future customers: the communication and professionalism you experience at the start may not continue—and if something goes wrong, you may be left without support or recourse.
