Cody Colton Drywall

Cody was hired to do some siding, painting and drywall work and was given a $750 deposit for supplies with the remaining payment after the job was completed. He claims to have become ill and we moved the deadline back multiple times to accommodate him, including the opportunity to step down from the job. We were up against a hard deadline that he confirmed he would be done by multiple times. The morning of the deadline he calls and quits with half the job incomplete forcing us to scramble for new workers on short notice and great expense. Since that time he has been harassing us with insults and threats of taking out a lien for payment of expenses he said he incurred above the $750 he has already been paid. He can’t provide any receipts for said expenses and denies he quit the job. All of this is documented in text messages and phone records that are riddled with excuses, inconsistencies and fabrications. He intends to extort us for payment by placing a lien on our home.

Absolutely worst drywall contractor ever and extremely dishonest. I had to fire him after showing up after 2:00 three days in a row, the third day smelling of alcohol. He then vandalized the work he had done.

Took over 3 weeks to complete a 3-4 pay project. Repeatedly either just didn't show up, or cancelled scheduled appointment at or after the time expected. Came to the job twice without the supplies necessary to to the work; "thought I had that in my truck". Dumped drywall debris in front and side of house in tree and planted area for us to clean up. Left work area a complete mess. Showed up the last day coughing, with no mask and possible COVID exposure. Drywall work finally completed and fine, however final painting of two ceilings are left to us as we will no have him return. Not dependable and unpredictable attitude. Very negative experience.

Cody was hired to repair, and finish for paint, drywall in our garage. A quoted 3 day job went over a month, I tried reaching out to him several times to find an amicable solution. I requested a refund for the portion of the unfinished work, he offered 5%, I requested 15%, of which he declined. He then broke into my garage to retrieve a drill he left from a previous work day, and was caught by my husband. He was trespassed by the Meridian Police Dept from our property. The work isn't completed, and I am out the money that we ignorantly prepaid when he told us a sob story about how he girlfriend cheated. Let our mistake guide others to a reputable contractor.
