I had a great experience with Colina Homes. Both homes I bought from them have been fantastic. The first home I bought in Villages of Heritage point I bought for $225,000 and just sold in 2021 for almost $400,000. The sales consultant Dora kept me updated throughout the process in both cases. First when I previously bought a home with her in the Villages of Heritage point community she was able to help me navigate the mortgage process and make the walks easy. Then when I reached out to her again as I was selling that home she told me about her Tomball community and I decided to purchase again in their Rosehill Meadow Community.

This builder horrible so many issues that doesn't get addressed! Same issues as previous complaints that people have made.
Ceiling cracking, flooring, windows, soft concrete, and painting issues! Their craftsmanship is terrible and these type of things you would expect from a newly constructed home! 2-13 warranty is just as bad they'll respond but nobody never comes out to fix the issues! Stay away from Colina Homes I started to believe I've been had -

I do not recommend Colina Homes! Honesty-integrity was sadly lacking. I deposited the earnest money towards purchasing the home from Colina in Spring Branch- Jacqueline Dr location. As part of the process, I went through the home inspection and found structural and foundational issues. Unfortunately, Colina builders were not ready to fix those issues, stating they had received city approvals and could not change anything. Please reach out to me so that I can share the inspection report.
Please do not pay the earnest amount if you are not sure about purchasing the property. These builders will never return our hard-earned money. Instead, they corner and push you to close in 28-30 days; You will also be entitled to pay additional penalty fees imposed by them in their contract if you fail to close within their stipulated period. Money first! And Customer Service last!
The worst part of everything is providing us with a defective Oven that doesn't heat up to the approximate temperature validated by the home inspector and Colina confirming with us to work with the Oven manufacturer after closing as these are cosmetic calibration issues in temperature. Again, I was appalled by their response.
As a whole, please do not invest your money with these builders as they perform mediocre work in box-like homes that have no value. I became a little ignoramus looking into their home amenities but failed to see the bigger picture. Please feel free to reach out to me so that I can provide more insight in detail!!!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUILDER!
We feel very misled and cheated out of our earnest money. We were very honest and upfront about our lease ending and how important it was to us to be in the home by the time it ended. We were ok with walking away if it wouldn’t be ready, but the sales rep insisted that the building had already begun and it would be ready. The listing we saw online had an August completion advertised and most
importantly the contract also had the estimated completion date as August 29th. Turns out that all that was there was the form boards and that’s how it stayed for almost a month after we signed the contract with no communication during that month. We started getting concerned reached out to our realtor to see what our options were. At this point we knew that the house would not be done in time since essentially building had not begun.
However we were not contacted about any changes to the closing date.On July 25th, after our realtor reached out to them about our concerns and lack of communication. That is when they informed her that they would be done closer to sept/October.
July 27th they received dirt to the lot. No plumbing, no foundation just dirt. So sep/oct didn’t even sound reasonable.
When we reached out about getting out earnest money back they said no due to the fact that they can’t control the weather. I understand the weather can’t be controlled but honesty and communication can.
I feel as though they I knew ALL along that they wouldn’t be done in the time frame they told us and just said it to get us under contract. They took advantage of us as first time homebuyers and now we are scrambling to figure what to do next, being down $3000.
Extremely disappointed in the way they do business and will tell everyone and anyone I can to steer clear of this builder!

If you are a first time home buyer please do not proceed with Colina Homes. I read the reviews back in January and decided to proceed with them. I got a house under contract for 205k and was told our home would be built by end of April- mid May. The sales rep was tentative the first month but I should have known they were terrible from the beginning. They messed up on our contract 3 times from having the wrong address, someone else’s name, and then wrong dates. It took a month to have the contract corrected and we finally had a in person meeting end February-first week of March to be told our home would be completed by 2nd week of June. From March to May our sales rep was none responsive to our emails, calls, or texts messages on the status of the home. We receive a call finally in May 2021 by a different sales rep Randy who was not helpful at all saying Joshua was terminated and he was taking over with assisting us. That same call he also said that in order to proceed we must agree to the new sales price of the home of 233k which is almost 30k more than what we signed for. His excuse was cost of lumber and labor has gone up and the company needs to cover their expenses. I told him we were not allowed to do any customization or alternations to the floor plan such as upgrades because we were told by both our sales rep Joshua at the time and executive Shelly that everything was preordered and prepaid for already. I told him if everything was preordered, prepaid for, and the home just needs drywall and flooring at this point 30 days from closing, where is this extra cost of lumber coming from? Our framing, roofing, plumbing, and electrical was done already so where was the extra cost coming for? Of course he didn’t have a extra except “well we couldn’t have foreseen this with the pandemic” I told him then it sounds like your company does not have a good system in place for budgeting or out pocket expenses. His only response well you have 2 options either you pay the new price or we send you back your earnest money. I cancelled my contract and got my earnest money back after 30 days we canceled. We were 30 days from closing with minimum work left to be done on the home. Please stay away from this company at all cost. They are unprofessional, have no idea how to operate a business, and will say any lie to get you under contract. The market now is crazy and not worth investing time with this builder. I have seen some lots in Tidwell community with a sold sign since September 2020 we are now July 2021 and the homes still have not been built. Stay away at all cost. This company will not be in business any longer if no one buys from them. Let them lose their money and force sell their property to other builders

Horrible experience. After moving in, the house was filled with sewage as a big piece of concrete was left in the pipe. Master bedroom's door couldn't be locked. Complaints to company got no results

Like others who contracted right before the pandemic, I contracted in February. By June still no foundation, lot untouched. Got the call that the home price would go up $20k, I agreed to pay. Then two days later their lender denied my loan. I have been preapproved since February by the way. Colina wouldn’t even allow me 24 hours to get another lender. They canceled the contract and now the house is listed for $43k more. Just a scam. I could have already been in a home. I moved from out of state and this is my welcome to TX. :(

Hello, I have a problem. My wife and I are in the process of buying a home from Colina Homes in Sierra Vista. We signed our contract back in December of last year and the house is still being built. We are about 60 days or less from closing and today 6/3/21, I get a call from the builder telling me that they need to pass some of the price increase on to us after we are under contract by $20,000. Initially, we were persuaded to lock in the price before the end of the year. So, we paid earnest money and signed contract. Now, we are told we don't have a choice. If we want to continue, the base price will be increased $20,000. I don't think this is fair. They are telling us basically "if you don't take it then we will cancel the contract and refund your earnest money and here's five hundred dollars. We are going to resell the house for 43,000 more than you signed for." The big kicker is you only have till Monday 6/7/21 to let us know or we are going to cancel the contract and send you your money back. I know that the prices of homes and materials are going up but as a business, you should take into account things like this and try to keep your name good and have a good reputation in your area of business. They said that they are going to go back to other people that are under contract and do the same to them also. After you have purchased the home, you get a warranty from them for the home and now you have to think if they do this now, then will they try to do this type of stuff to get out of the warranty when you need them? As I'm looking online and writing I have found recent complaints like mine on this site https://www.buildzoom.com/contractor/colina-homes. The first story is just like mine from May 30, 2021. As you can imagine, we have watched every step of the building process from pouring the foundation to now having a roof. We were just getting excited as we near completion, and then we get this notice. It is unthinkable that any business would operate like this; not considering breach of contract or just having integrity in business. Now, I wonder how many other potential buyers are being misled or taken advantage of.

What an awful company. I wouldn't recommend Colina Homes to anyone. 12/10/2020. Construction didn't start until 03/09/2021. No real reason given. Just excuses from sales rep. House was framed wrong, missing walls and door ways. Missing plumbing. Thee house has 2 false windows. One of the windows was missing from the delivery. Sales rep called us and told us Colina won't be fitting the window in the house and would just brick over it. When we objected that it would effect the look of the house, his response was "if you don't like it, we will cancel the contract and then sell the house to someone else for more money. He said the construction wouldn't be delayed for one window. Soon after the rep called and said 4 windows had been stolen from the house, so with 16 week delivery for windows construction would be delayed with closing likely in December. 5/27/2021 rep called and said with delays and extra costs we either had to pay $20,000 extra or Colina would cancel the contract. We refused, spoke with sales director and owner, but got nowhere. 5/28/2021 Colina canceled the contract. 5/29/2021 Colina have the house on the market for almost $43,000 more that our contract price.

Took 5 months to get my home built.. Colina wouldnt have security on the site, so my windows got stolen. Wood got stolen, sheetrock got stolen. Trucks ruuned my new sod before we moved in. Builder Javi promised to fix what was on the sheet, now he refuses to fix what is on the sheet. Now he is telling us to file a 1 time warranty request. Just a complete sht show. Worst buying experience EVER. NEVER AGAIN. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THEM.

I started my process with Colina in September 2020. I was told my home would be ready at the end of December or early January. I've now been told since last week that the close date will be mid February, and then today, the "builder was sick for a week" and so now my projected close date is end of February. This process has been nothing but FRUSTRATING and EXHAUSTING to say the least. One run-around or story after the other, and who has the bear the expenses of it all: ME. Have been living out of a suitcase in a hotel since my lease ended in December and I'm beyond irritated at this point. They have completely ruined this first-tine home-buying experience. Would NEVER recommend these people to anyone even if they paid me. Take your time and money elsewhere! You will thank me for it.

I would not recommend this builder to anyone. The customer service is very horrible and no sense of urgency. Throughout the entire process I was given misleading information and everything was blamed on the pandemic. Upon the day before closing the ceiling fans and paint trim around the front and garage door wasn't complete including the towel rack for the master bathroom was taken down for whatever reason. I was assured these items will be completed by the next day which was signing day and to my surprise it wasn't. The builder told me he was going to take care of it since he understood my service with him was nothing but trash. On the day of closing, I went by the home to inspect and the home was un-cleaned, the builder ensured me the cleaners will be in by the time I finish signing. After signing and the loan funded, went by to pick up my keys and the home wasn't cleaned at all. Stay away from Colina Homes !!!!

It took 2 months after closing for Colina to install "luxury" vinyl flooring for the third time, after they failed to clean and refloat the slab between the first (defective plank) and second (bad prep) installations. It still looked like wavy, bumpy garbage, but I had to get my old home on the market and I had to accept it. Additionally, I've reported no less than 50 issues in the first year (the warranty company sucks, too) and the biggest expense out of my pocket will be to replace the non-warrantied dead backyard trees that were never properly secured, considering they are 30' high with 6" root structures, along a pond to the north with a lot of 25 mile per hour winds. Both trees lean toward the house and their exposed roots made watering useless! So far, I've had sunken sheetrock filled, textured and painted, bowed-out sheetrock flattened, textured and painted and I'm still waiting for a chipped kitchen cabinet door to be replaced. On walkthrough, I found one of the NON-SINK cabinet drawers was just a faux draw - face only. How lazy can you get, Colina? Most of the plants, despite watering, are dead and gone. The sod is a disgrace. You can tell a Colina Home by the dead trees, bad sod and bare (dead) plantings. You've heard of someone built like a brick "s" house. I call this my "s" brick house. Shame on Colina Homes, "where we put you in a piece of crap."
