He wanted to take a job for cosmetic repairs to sell my house with an assistant (David) and be paid at a rate of $30 per man hour, $60 total. I was hesitant to accept an open-ended contract but he was recommended highly by my realtor. In the end, I kept track of every minute they were at my house for repairs (16 hrs.) Then I was handed a bill for 13+ additional hours with no documentation of any hours or materials. I asked for an explanation and all I received was outrage that I would dare question his character. No answer as to why the bill was padded or what materials or time away from the house was needed. No evidence of time or materials given. I could see this was going to be an unending fight - so I just paid it and let him leave. I was taken advantage of, plain and simple. I paid the 29 hr bill and will have to hire others to finish the jobs he left undone. The work they did complete was ok/average. I can not recommend him. NEVER allow a repairman talk you into hourly rate. Only agree to payment terms by "the job. "
