    backyard remodel and outdoor kitchen
    $70,000

Josh scammed us out of thousands of dollars. He assured us that he would not start work until he had all the permits necessary to begin. Not only did he not finish a job, the first job he did 'finish' had multiple issues that he said he would fix while working on the second job. Never happened..dead plants, fountain that burned out, landscape lights that burned out (after 1 year!) and he couldn't tell us the manufacturer so we could replace the bulbs, an outdoor kitchen that was held 15 feet in the air on 3x3 supports, etc. Upon a professional inspection to get the kitchen finished when he told us he filed bankruptcy, we found that not only was the kitchen never permitted, it was not to code and was about to fall.

The work they did complete was with cheap materials (much like the outdoor kitchen). Outdoor turf that we paid a lot of money to have him put in was little more than grass carpet from Home Depot...and the cheapest brand at that so it was always wrinkled and looked terrible. The paint on our arbor pealed off after the first season and there was so much wood putty on the arbor that we had to have a professional come in to fix it.

Josh lied to us about why he disappeared for weeks. One time, he said he was sick but we found Facebook pictures and him in Vegas with his wife for that same time period. Another time, he couldn't come because his parents were getting divorced - Sid confirmed that did not happen. Yet another time he couldn't come because he had a lawsuit pending on another homeowner who refused to pay him so he had no money to hire a crew...which changed every time he came out. We signed our second contract with him in February and after nearly 18 months of excuses, he finally started that project only to tell us he was bankrupt and couldn't finish so we paid thousands to rip his mess down and put it back in it's original state.

He's a nice guy but don't let that fool you. They're more interested in getting cash and then giving excuses as to why they cannot finish the work.

He has a great eye for design but beyond that, I wouldn't ever hire Colorado Essence again.

    backyard pond build
    $15,000

Josh and Sid Huggins fIled bankruptcy on us too ... scammers!! After meeting with them at the Home show in the spring of 2018, we were convinced we'd try out the little guys and give our business to the "mom n pop" operation! BAD IDEA! after $15,000 in deposits and countless heart breaking stories stories and excuses (LIES!) of why they couldn't show up ... they declared Ch.7 on us.

    Back yard

Do not hire Josh and Sid. These guys are scam artists. They routinely take deposits then declare bankruptcy to try to hide from their obligations, while forming a new company the next day. They do not show up to do the work. I hired another landscaper to do my yard, and they screwed him over too by not showing up to do the work they told him they would do. These guys are dishonest liars who just want to steal your money.

They took a deposit from me to do my backyard while operating under the name "Colorado Essence Landscape" - look it up and read the reviews there too. Then they filed bankruptcy and opened this new company to try to hide from several people in my neighborhood whom they took deposits from. I guess they don't understand the legal system, but looking into their past, they have gotten away with this tactic several times.

DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY OR HIRE THEM. THEY ARE SCAMMERS.

In response to the response from "the owners" on their google review. If you look up both Colorado Essence Landscape and Denver Artisan Decks, both companies were registered using the same name, address and phone number. This is just another attempt by Josh and Sid Huggins to propogate a lie about Denver Artisan Decks being a different company. The Silent Investors is just a story they are making up to pass the blame, the only skill either of them seem to possess. Do NOT give them money you will regret it.

    Landscaping
    $30,000
    60 days

Josh and Sid did an amazing job in transforming our VERY drab side and backyard into an oasis. We've worked with them on two separate projects and found them to be flexible, willing to listen to our ideas, and most importantly--willing to make sure we were satisfied before the job was completed.
