    Landscaping
    $19,000

I had Stephen do all the new landscaping on a house I had built last year. The work I had performed was the demolition of the existing concrete pad beneath the covered patio, and re-installation of stamped and stained concrete extending the rest of the length of the house, gravel driveway on the side of the property, concrete curbing, decorative rock install, paver walkway, under ground sprinklers and drip lines, sod, 24 arborvitae and countless decorative plants.

I had multiple quotes put together by different contractors and Stephen's prices were competitive, and he seems knowledgeable and responsive. Stephen followed up promptly with all bid adjustments and was flexible with pricing. He seemed genuinely interested in making sure the final product was of high quality, while also being realistic with budget and design concepts.

I was working a swing shift at this time and Stephen and his crew were always very courteous and notified me of the times they planned on working. I never had to deal with any trash or debris from the construction process and Stephen always did a great job of keeping his equipment organized on the property and swept and hosed the road and driveway if necessary.

I work as a supervisor in the construction industry, working on large scale projects and am very familiar with the in's and outs of dealing with subcontractors. This project went underway on schedule and no setbacks took place. The evolution of the project was approximately 3 weeks. I had contacted Stephen about coming back by and adjusting some sprinklers and he was more than willing to do so. Stephen was flexible and helpful throughout the project, willing to make small adjustments on the fly, swapping out plant varieties and paver finishes to ensure the final product was exactly what I was looking for.

I am more than please with the experience I had with Stephen and look forward to hiring him for future projects. we have been discussing a recessed fire pit using basalt boulders to be installed this summer.

    Landscape

After reading the reviews I contacted Stephen for an estimate. He sold himself and company well so I hired him for a major project on our new construction. His work included paver installation, laying gravel, curbing, sprinklers, low voltage landscape lighting, and sod. On November 28 he guaranteed the work to be done by December 15 (except sod). On April 16 we entered into an agreement to void the contract with a reduction of cost to compensate for the work not completed. Over the 4 plus months I received many excuses why he could not do things, many no shows for days he committed to work, and a lot of less than truthful information. I could go on but I think the 4 months’ delay and the list of work that I need to finish the job speaks for itself. The low voltage lights are not installed, the sprinklers were not set and had no flow nozzles in them, 3/4 of the sprinklers pop up at an angle and need to be reburried, the pavers are scratched because he didn’t use a pad on the compactor, no pressure reducer or filter on the drip irrigation, drip irrigation runs not attached to a water supply, and solenoid valves not connected to the timer.

    total backyard landscaping project
    $65,000

NO, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!! I hired him to do a large backyard project. He did not follow the plans. EVERYTHING he did needs to be redone. He built retaining walls without proper footings; he used inferior/incorrect materials in the retaining walls. He lied about how he spent my money: he told me he had purchased plants, all the electrical for the lighting, the fireplace, the water feature. I never saw any of that. He was to put in the sleeves for the electrical, irrigation, and propane. He never did it. When we asked him to draw out the placment for those, he continually put us off saying he knew where they would go as he continued the work. He incorrectly buried a propane tank which now has to be removed and recoated before it can be used. EVERYTHING he did needs to be redone. I gave him $35,000; the lowest bid to fix his mess is double that amount! That doesn't include the damage he did to my existing irrigation and the front yard. I give Stephen Youseff /Columbia Basin Landscaping a negative rating.

    Sprinkler Blowout
    $30
    1 day

Sprinkler blowout the other day - it so happens that rental company was unable to provide enough hose to reach remote KID locations on some properties like mine, I watched Columbia Basin Landscaping Employee disengage the compressor rig for the towing rig and pull that heavy compressor up my steep driveway and across the soft lawn to the closets location he could get the machine and complete his assignment- then return compressor to street in same manner as brought onto property - A Heroic effort to get the job done!

    Remove large tree
    $700
    1 day

I met with Steve the owner of this company on a Sunday, had a need for a huge tree that needed to be removed. He give me a more than fair bid, and told me he would do it on the following day. He showed up at 9 a.m. the day promised, and worked nonstop til 5:00 p.m. Job was DONE ! Thank you Columbia Basin Landscaping. R M. Robinson
