    I contacted Ocala Steel Enterprises in January of 2023 regarding construction of a tool shed in my back yard. I spoke directly with the owner at the time and he assured me that he had installed steel structures in many parts of the state and that their manufacturer would be able to supply building plans that would meet Sarasota county code standards. A draft was put together for my new shed which I approved and I paid an initial deposit of $1100 on 1/27/23. I was assured the manufacturer would provide the necessary building plans in order to file permits within the week. I contacted the manufacturer directly and let them know exactly what Sarasota county required but when the plans arrived they were generic plans and not site specific plans as I indicated I would need. I requested new plans that would meet county code and was assured I would have them within a week. I contacted both Ocala Steel Enterprises and the manufacturer every week in February and march but never received new plans. I contacted Ocala Steel Enterprises again and told the owner that it didn't seem likely the manufacturer was capable of providing the necessary plans, could I please have my deposit refunded and no hard feelings. The owner promised to send me a refund check by 4/28. On 4/29 I contacted the owner again. He said he had been delayed but would mail the check out the next day. I have contacted the owner every week since then and have received a variety of responses from 'the check is in the mail' to 'I'll send it out next week'. It has been over six months and I still have not have my promised refund. I also have not received building plans from the manufacturer.
