Choosing a contractor for any significant home improvement project often presents a variety of challenges. Professional skills are essential, but customer service is also important, especially if you and your contractor do not want to be at each other's throats every time an issue comes up, and I have yet to see a project without issues.
After interviewing several good contractors, we chose Compass and Hammer, LLC for a basement remodel this year, and the process went very well. David, the owner, was a pleasure to work with, and he has the patience of Job. He was willing to work with a few subcontractors that we had previous relations with, and the team got along quite well.
He worked hard, was flexible when most needed, and was very respectful of our home. Issues that arose were easily resolved, and the whole affair went quite smoothly in spite of the challenges that did arise during construction. My wife and I are pleased with the final product, and with outstanding service that David has provided after job completion.
We recently had a minor problem that we thought was related to the construction project, and David was willing to come by on a Sunday morning to take a quick look. The issue was minor and fixed in a matter of minutes, but I cannot say how much we appreciate his going the extra mile and not making us wait days until he could stop by to see what he could do.
My wife and I enjoyed working with him, and would do so again if we undertake any future home improvement projects.
