Compass Window and Door

If i could do zero stars i would. Contacted jim in September 2023 for door replacements in the beginning ie before i gave him money he was attentive. I gave this man 6k down payment for 2 doors told will be in 6 weeks. Fast forward to late December having not heard once from him I reach out via email asking very politely for an update. Finally in late january 2024 he calls me and is quite rude that I am bothering him and tells me He will treat me like his only client. Significantly condescending when i was asking about an update on a product promised to me months before. I get a tale the company was closed and expect the doors by early march. So i very kindly say ok please let me know when they have shipped. Fastforward again its april 7 months later and he finally responds shocked that our doors were never delivered he thought they had been installed. We contacted the door company who tell us our doors had never been ordered. This so company is a scam be warned. We have asked repeatedly for our money back he claims it was mailed. Definitely not mailed

After taking our deposit, James Schmitz, who owns/runs the company, disappeared for weeks on end. Over the past 6 months we have tried to a) get updates on our window delivery, b) set up an installation date, and, once we realized there probably weren't any windows, c) get our deposit back. I have talked to the "landlord" (co-working space) where this business is registered, and was told that James also owes THEM money. Our headache isn't over yet. Don't use their services.

I highly recommend!!! Great buying experience from start to finish. I will be using them again.

Their windows are nice and the price is reasonable but their customer service is terrible. Unless they want something from you they never advise you of status on job or warranty work. i always had to call them or email them. I had storm door glass that was returned for warranty and it took 9 months to get it replaced. They blamed to company but the company said it was never ordered. I do not recommend using them.

I am giving them one star for the quality of the windows , they are beautiful. Sadly the installation is a nightmare. Started the project 3 months after signing the contracts. Three months later and I have a picture window half installed. Caulking around the other installed windows is cracking and I have had to hire a junk company to come and remove the trash that was left behind. I get intermittent promises to finish, that is it.

They only came out to measure windows and door. They are polite and to the point. Will be a couple of weeks to install the windows.I think it will go well.
