The worst customer service...When I called the office to have them further explain my electrical issue, the person that answered the phone stated that the technician doesn't have time to answer questions. When I asked for a copy of the report I was told that once the report is submitted to home warranty, they don't have access to the report once it's submitted. Total waste of time and money.

One star is too many. If your warranty company assigns. Compound Electric I'd refuse and have them send another company. He did absolutely nothing for me in two service calls to deal with a touchy Arc Fault Breaker. Extremely bad experience with this guy. He is completely unprofessional, was driving some beat up car, and had zero interest in fixing the problem. Most likely the problem is beyond his abilities and blames the warranty process. If I had to guess, I'd say that this guy is scamming the warranty companies.

Called the electrician through a home warranty agency which charges $100 for a dispatch. The electrician came and said this is an old house and nothing can be done and walked out without touching anything. Totally useless and waste of everyone’s time

The technician was phenomenal when it came to all areas of customer service. He was prompt and on time, polite and courteous, gives you his attention with eye contact when communicating, knew his stuff, found and fixed and resolved the problem. AAA+++ service. If we ever have to call you again, PLEASE SEND TREVOR!!!

By Sabrina L.December 29, 2023electrical problem
Should be 0 stars! Just had this so called "electrician" come out to my house for a wiring issue I know I had due to a PGandE report. He stayed for about 5 minutes and said "nothing wrong" and left. No one picks up phone when you call and customer support is terrible. These guys are lazy and just want to take the home warranty initial call but don't want to do any work.

By Dana S.December 22, 2023Main circuit breaker repair$85
Had to use these incompetent bunch of clowns first through my First American home warranty. Eddie came out and I could tell he just didn’t have any desire to fix anything on my main circuit breaker. He wrote in his report, which took him three days to submit while I had no electricity to half of my house, that it was due to “capacity issues.” My house is 60 years old genius, it’s been fine. Had another company come out and they were able to solve the problem immediately. DO NOT HIRE THESE LIARS!!!

These guys are awful. They didn't look at the issues they were called out for. The engineer was super rude and left the place in a real mess. He couldnt find what was wrong with the one thing he did look at and spent 3 hours trying to figure it out. Turns out it was a faulty switch that another electrician solved in 10 minutes. They were supposed to follow up with me and never did. What a shower these guys are. I'd give them zero stars if I could.

I had same experience as Arimena B. Compound Electrical Technicians are very unprofessional and technically incompetent. was assigned to them via American Home Shield Warranty and their customer service is not good either. American Home Shield Warranty charged money and i had to get it fixed by outside contractor who troubleshoot and fixed issue in 1 hour

By LcSeptember 20, 2023Electric panel repair$700Read more
Fidelity Home Warranty sent us Compound to take a look at our electrical issues after a power outage sent our kitchen appliances malfunctioning. It was a big mistake that I never saw coming. Compound sent their technician who appeared to be intoxicated and threw up in our front yard prior to doing any work. He then proceeded to do some tests on our main breaker panel. He concluded that the main switch was the culprit and needed to be replaced. He then yanked the main switch - WITHOUT CALLING THE UTILITY COMPANY TO SHUT OFF THE POWER LINE & WITHOUT ANY PRE-WORK INSPECTION. This resulted in a terrible electrical disaster that knocked out power to our entire house for at least 2 days. We had 80% power before Compound did their “work” but instead of making things better, they turned it to a nightmare. We ended up throwing away tons of food items in our ref/freezer that got spoiled due to lack of power. We reported our situation to SMUD who then sent their own technician to assess the damage Compound created. SMUD came to the conclusion that Compound fried our main breaker panel by being irresponsible and negligent and not following proper protocol of obtaining permit and contacting the utility company prior to removing the main switch. Bottom line, it cost me $5000 to hire a reputable electrician company (Peach Electric) to fix the considerable damage Compound Electric caused. Stay far away from this company. Push back if you can from your warranty provider if they assign these guys to your work order. Don’t even let them close to your electrical equipment because they will destroy it like they did ours. And when you ask them to resolve their mess, they will finger point you to anyone else they can blame and won’t take responsibility for their mess. I also found out that Compound is a sole proprietorship that could be sending unqualified independent contractors to their projects. Absolutely unreliable, untrustworthy, and unprofessional!

By Michael B.September 1, 2023Fix a electrical panel$2,000
Zero stars would be more appropriate. Josh took 48 hours to even file his report to First American Homeowners Insurance. We had electrical issues throughout half of the house. He looked at the panel for 5 minutes, took pictures and left. Once the report was finally filed, he claimed that everything electrical is functioning at the time of the visit and there is no failure to diagnose at the time of visit. Based on this First American denied our claim and told me that we had to hire an outside electrician at our own cost, even though we already paid $85 for a trade call to have Compound Electric come out. All I can say, this is a fraud from beginning to end, and Compound Electric, who provides false information, is part of that fraud.

By Arimena B.August 24, 2023Repair ceiling fan$85
If I can do a 0 rating I would.
Compound Electric came out to my house to repair a ceiling fan that would not work. I purchased to fan less then a year. Since I wasn’t sure what time they would come, I left and drove one block to get water. When I returned, the other contractors working on my house said the electrician only looked at the fan, turned the switch on and off, said “she probably need a new fan” and left.
This is a shitty company and First American Home Warranty is shitty for hiring incompetent workers that’s only out for the money.RUN RUN RUN, FROM COMPOUND ELECTRIC AND FIRST AMERICAN HOME WARRANTY .

By Maryam R.January 28, 2023Check the kitchen light which wasn’t turning on$100
This is an honest feedback from a homeowner regarding the way this company and their staff treat their customers ; technician came over to find out why my kitchen light is not working, he said the issue was with light ballast!!! He said I need a brand new light for my kitchen! Not to me nation I bought this light for $1000 and love it. I requested a copy of the report to see what the exact issue is, the office manager insulted me , lied to me that she just sent it to me which I never received it!!!I talked to other electricians, Home Depot electrical staff, searched on line, surprisingly I found out there is no ballast in this light fixture!
Then I called Oldtown electric company, he came by the same day, turned the switch on in the attic which was tripped, as simple as this after three weeks challenge with this company I had! The technician didn’t even bother to go ti attic!!!
They cost me more money, time, stress, and wrong diagnosis so unprofessional!!!! -
By JcOctober 25, 2022Fix Ceiling Fan$85
Submitted a Home Warranty claim to fix a ceiling fan that stopped working. Compound came out the first day and spent 2hours checking every outlet, turning off/on breakers, getting dirty handprints all over the walls only to find out he could not fix it. He brought back his boss the 2nd day and they did the same thing for 2 more hours and finally gave up and said we would have to reschedule. Oh, they left dirty handprints around 20+ outlets again and they told my Warranty company it was not covered due to an accident. Very poor service/company.

We lost power to a certain area of the house, to include all kitchen appliances. The breaker was not tripped so we needed help. The home warranty company sent us guys from Compound electric. They were at our house for well over an hour, maybe close to 2. Opening outlets, going into the attic and the crawl space underneath. They found nothing, said they couldn’t find any wires in the attic and made a suggestion that they could maybe re-route power down from the attic. We said ok.
A week goes by, I had to contact them to get some sort of answer. Got a bit of a run around answer as to why this was still being investigated by the home warranty company. We finally got a response a few days later and come to find out, our claim was denied because the tech that came to our house stated that the wires within the walls were damaged due to a remodel.
So we had a friend/handyman come to our place and guess what we found…
1. They said they couldn’t find any wires in the attic, well the first wire you see when entering the attic is the wire they needed… failure!
2. There was a loose butt connection in one of the outlets! Something they should have discovered EASILY! Failure! So they failed to find the issue that should have been a no brained, they lied about not finding any wires in the attic, they screwed us over on the home warranty claim, this was an absolutely mind boggling fail. They will never get our business again.

By JgSeptember 22, 2022Inspect a power outage issue$0
Came out to my house and did their investigation. Told me my issue was due to lack of capacity. They denied my claim saying it wasnt covered under my warranty. I called the warranty company and they said it WAS covered, so they scheduled him to come back out. The day of the appointment after getting a text saying he would be here in 10 min but then called and said he wouldnt be coming because my issue was "This would be improper installation. The wire size lacks the capacity to withstand over a 15 amp current." This is not what he initially told my warranty company. He never came back out to look and it was never written in his first report. Why did it suddenly change to something he would know was NOT covered in my contract? My issue however has been solved. I had another company come out only to find out that the issue the whole time was a bad GFI. Easy fix and not costly. Ty Compound electric for wasting my time.

Josh was very knowledgeable and professional when he came out to my house to diagnose and fix an electrical issue I was having. An overall great customer service experience and I would highly recommend him to my friends and family.

Extremely pleased with the work done by Josh and Compound Electric. He's was on-time, prepared and pleasant to work with. His wealth of knowledge allowed him to track down the problem and quickly correct a very dangerous situation. I wish he had worked on building the house originally, instead of the
idiots who didn't even try to follow code. i would defiantly call Compound for any issues in the future.
