Concept has been a fantastic. They are responsive, polite, fast and honest. They are, in fact, still doing work for a renovation project on our house and I'm confident that the work is and will be phenomenal. This was my first time using a contractor and I am a first time homeowner. Even still, with the horror stories you hear from contractors in LA, I can assure you that the owner, Jacob and Valentina their project manager will be present each day. There have been no surprise cost changes, their quote has been accurate so far and will not hesitate to use them again for future projects. Their staff has all been top notch. Do yourself a favor and use them.
As an aside, we requested quotes from other companies and while some may seem responsive, they will likely forget about you or think of you as a number. They treat you like a person and constantly check in to make sure you're happy with their work. I trust them with my home completely. They have the utmost integrity, I can't say enough for how positive this experience has been.

The owner, Jacob Levy and his partner, are unwilling to negotiate a contract. Seems to be his way or the highway. We ended up not working with them due to their inability to negotiate and lack of professionalism throughout the process.
We requested quotes on Home Advisor and received a quick call based on the lead they sent from their scheduler, Nikki, who set up a consultation with Jacob. We decided to give Concept Renovations a chance to remodel our 6’x8’ bathroom based on the solid reviews on multiple sites (only one poor review on Yelp about inappropriate sexual behavior and the way it was handled by management). We had hoped this was an isolated issue based on the multiple positive reviews. We had informed them early on we plan to start with the bathroom and then remodel the rest of the house and would like to use them if the bathroom reno went as planned.
Aside from the one poor review, there were multiple red flags that came up with communication that concerned us.
We agreed upon a price with Jacob at our first meeting and then he emailed over a proposal (titled it an addendum but no signed contract sent). We asked multiple times for a contract before the start date and were told by Nikki that files were locked in the office but she would attempt to send. After 3 repeated requests, they were never sent and the next day Jacob said files can’t be sent over email and that Nikki doesn’t perform clerical work. They also recommended we order items from Ferguson with their builders’ discount and found they were 2-3 times higher than the exact same quality items from HomeDepot.com. We even called the manufacturer to confirm both products were the same and were frustrated they sent to waste 2 hours.
Once our orders were all squared away, his project manager, Avi, arrived with a demo crew of 2 guys on the agreed upon date with the contract. It was a standard California Home Improvement Contract that refers to the addendum (or the proposal) he sent over. We felt pressured to sign a vague, one-sided contract while the crew was sitting outside waiting to start demo. We ended up agreeing to postpone demo while we worked out the contract. They kept saying that we had to trust them and that they were getting good vibes from us which is very unprofessional. He said “You probably don’t want to hear this, but I could reno this bathroom with my eyes closed!” since he’s done so many and rests on his reviews on all these home websites. We wanted a contract to protect both sides from issues down the road as is standard when working with GCs. He didn’t want to budge allowing them to be vague and uncooperative if issues arise.
The job was verbally proposed to take 2 business weeks (14 days) but the contract stated a whole month (27 business days). He built in cushion for his team so our job could push the whole month had they needed to accomplish other jobs. We added a liquidated damages clause discounting the job per late day past the contract date. Avi and Jacob claimed to be confident that they could accomplish the job in the allotted timeframe and if that was truly the case, they needn’t have an issue with the clause as it solely rests on their ability.
I also detailed the proposal with all the verbal items they agreed upon and he said he could meet our timeline but the proposal stayed as-is. Therefore, he was unwilling to work harder to manage and complete the job properly.
We gave him an opportunity review our updated contract and go back and forth letting us know what he didn’t like. All he responded was, “We don’t usually have people ever alter our paper. Again u obviously see our work and you know we aren’t here to steal. It’s either you trust us and take the risk or it doesn’t work. There’s a reason we have an A rating. Never stolen a dollar.” This is likely in response to adjusting the payment schedule. They wanted 1/3 the cost after demo, 2/3 after plumbing and electrical (proposed to be completed on day 3) and then the last 1/3 towards the end. I proposed a fairer schedule with ½ due after about half the job was complete, ¾ around the ¾ mark and the last ¼ upon completion.
TL;DR: Jacob and his partner are unwilling to negotiate a contract, unable to properly email full contracts so clients can review them before demo guys are waiting to come in, and aren’t willing to work harder to get a small job done so they can land a much larger job. He informed me, “Luckily I’m privileged enough to have enough work.” Good for him. Fully review his contract, ask questions, and negotiate when planning to work with Concept Renovations. We were fair and kind throughout the process and he was unable to make us feel comfortable since he wanted leeway in the contract to not perform. Although they may perform, there may likely be headaches and disagreements along the way since he is unlikely to budge and make the contract fairer and detailed for the homeowner.

By Diana W.April 5, 2018Multi room renovations, with bath and kitchen
We hired Jacob Levy in August of 2017 and did over 100,000.00 in renovations. Jacob, was a bully, completely dishonest and was too busy to properly manage our project. Many redos....bathroom, closets, door frames, laundryroom due to poor project management were blamed on us, Our custom windows were scratched and coveted with stucco and did not repair it. Sloppy finish and he just did not care. The job finally finished March 2018 but it was so much struggle to get Jacob to do the right thing. Some things we gave up on. Dissapointing really. The work crew are good guys and with good project management I'm sure they are amazing.

This is a great company they came in and did what they said they would do. Bathroom addition was built with all the electrical and plumbing connected seemlessly. Great talent and beautiful work. Showed up on time and stuck with the budget. Will hire again.

Fast, and friendly service. No fooling around, they came in, got it done, and left my place as they found it! We really enjoyed working with all of them, and will definitely keep Concept in mind for future needs! I am very much looking forward to enjoying our new bathroom addition.

I have worked with many contractors over the years and have had good results, so I know a good company when I work with one. Concept Renovations is top notch. I knew as soon as I met them that all my expectations were going to be exceeded. They immediately ordered my 3 windows and did not start the job until the windows were delivered. After that, demo, framing, plumbing, electrical, cement, tile, drywall, paint, and finishes all proceeded quickly, efficiently, and perfectly. Since it was not a huge bathroom, the trades were staggered so each could do their job without interference from another trade. Every day I knew who was coming and what time they were arriving. They stayed until they finished their trade and cleaned up perfectly. I never had one complaint. My gorgeous bathroom was completed on time, within budget, and in an extremely professional manner. I love my new bathroom! I cannot wait to start my next project with Concept . . . my backyard renovation!

By Janet N.April 12, 2017Exterior house paint and 400 sq ft new deck$12,0005 daysBest work every time 3x loyal clients
These guys have yet to let us down. Our house looks great and the exterior painting has completely dried and has brought our house back to life in the neighborhood. Looks brand new from the outside. We had a new deck built in back as well and the stain matches perfectly with the new color of our home. This is important because the original stain that I had selected when we picked out the house color was so different and right on key our project manager suggested a different stain, one the would blend and match the new house color. He was so right! My first choice in stain would have almost clashed color wise. Now it just blends and rolls into each other smoothly. I love it! All of it! So take our word, if you want a reliable, honest and hard working renovation company to handle your work then we are telling you, you have to have them come out and do the work, it will get done and your always in the know with everything, every step of the way. You need to call them. They actually care about their work and your satisfaction. Like our deck stain, he didnt have to say a word just agreed and did what we asked. But he knew what look I wanted and his suggestion was spot on! We have seen nothing but consistency and excellent customer service with them. Their work is real good and we are set for summer. I love how our house looks now. Its been transformed. Concept Renovations is a company that has nothing but good, hardworking guys that get the job done..

We highly recommend Concept Renovations for home remodeling projects. We received great advice and solutions for our project including an extension out back with all new doors and windows. They come with a "can do attitude", are friendly, and very professional which gave us absolute confidence in hiring them. They not only quickly assessed our project but gave us a detailed guideline as to the cost and scheduling. We were able to start the very next week and they pulled it off. Kitchen, Bathrooms (not just one mind you!), Dining Room, and our extension out back! We are thrilled and we clearly made the right choice!

This is a great company. The office staff, managing partners and there team do an excellent job! We hired Concept Renovations back in July 2016 and started the project end of Aug into September. This is one of our family rental units and above everything to include the design work and permits they met us 100% of the way and were very understanding as to scheduling needs with active tenants. We are pleased to give them this good review. You wont go wrong with this company and ask about incentives, top of the line and solid.

I am pleased to give a review. These guys do very good work and stay right on budget. I had my kitchen cabinets resurfaced (look like new) and flooring laid throughout. No new appliances but did have new tile backsplash added to clean up the look. New window and added a small island only a block type non working island but still great for work space. Kitchen looks wonderful and done on a smaller budget. To name off 3 qualities, I would say affordable, client focused and very talented.

Our bathroom was remodeled in 2017 and most of it needs ti be re done. Many of the tiles are loose, the electrical wasn’t wired properly from the beginning but was so done with him that I left it, the finish around the floor needs to be replaced. One would think a guest bathroom with minimal traffic would last longer. Jacob didn’t oversee the work which should have been a red flag. Came to the house to sell his service and then placed his subs in the house and I never saw him again. I since have had my kitchen re done and worked with an amazing contractor that was honest and has stood by his work.
