Ruben was hostile with our GC. Did a bad job with a pressed in patio that now pools water which is very dangerous in a house with small kids when that freezes to ice. Has refused to come look at or fix, and now now is ignoring everyone.

Ruben poured a stamped concrete patio for me. It looked beautiful, until it started to crack and separate. The cracks started to show after the first week. These weren’t surface cracks, these cracks were deep and completely running through the thickness of the concrete. I called Ruben to get him to come back and look at what was going on. He was very short and blamed the cracks on the concrete plant where HE purchased it. He told me would come by the next week to look at it. He never called or came by. Another concern I have is that he only wanted to be paid in cash, he never had a receipt book or anything. When I tried to write a check he said he would have to charge me more. I had to write my own receipt of payment to him. When we contacted him on doing our patio, he came over, quoted us a price and said he would come back with a written proposal and contract, he never did. He just showed up and started working one day. When I asked him about having this in writing, he said he would bring the contract the next day, never did. In 3 days it was completed, and wouldn’t you know, he said he needed more money because he used more concrete than he figured on the job. Very disappointed he didn’t stand behind his work. Wouldn’t recommend or use him again!!!
