In 2019, I hired Kenneth Carmouche of Consolidate Construction Builders Co LLC to renovate a rental property in East Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I paid him over $30,000. Unfortunately, the work was never completed. The contractor stopped showing up and failed to refund the money. Despite repeated attempts to resolve the issue directly, he did not respond or return funds.
In 2024, the matter was investigated by the East Baton Rouge Financial Crimes Division, and the contractor was arrested in November 2024 for contractor fraud. To my knowledge, he still holds an active contractor’s license in Louisiana.
I am sharing this to help others avoid the emotional and financial stress this caused me and my family. Please do your research before hiring. Verify license status, check for complaints, and never pay large amounts up front without a contract and clear milestones.
This is an ongoing legal matter, and I hope justice will be served. I would not recommend this contractor or business to anyone.
