The contractor completed partial work from what was promised. The permits were also not fully acquired for outdoor kitchen. I could see him struggling to keep the timelines he promised. After many attempts of follow up calls the works not fully completed. There were $7000 taken in advance to complete the work however yet to return the calls and money up on cancellation of the work. The license needs to be revoked so others do not suffer the same as many have already been through.

I would not recommend him to anyone. Please make sure that you have the work completed before providing the advance money.

    Patio & walkway
    $9,000
    120 days

(01/09/2017): The initial inspection was complete and the approval was provided by the County officer on 01/05/2017. Now waiting for work to begin.

(01/04/2017): It has been a month since my previous post, we are still waiting for the initial inspection to be scheduled by the contractor so that the construction work can begin.

(12/02/2016) Finally the building permit application was submitted to the County office.

12/01/2016 - I'm posting our current review of this contractor & business. I'll continue to update my review if there is any change in status or if the issue gets resolved.

We paid a 50% deposit ($4500) to Josh Convento, the proprietor of Cool Breeze Concrete in the month of August, 2016 to build a walkway (for a wheelchair access need) and extend our patio (floor & roof). The contractor began work without getting permit from the HOA and the County office. After a lot of follow-ups and daily requests, we managed to get the HOA approval. In 2 weeks it is going to be 4 months and since then he has not even submitted the application to the County office. Everyday is a new excuse, till day no work has progressed.

Josh Convento has absolutely no work ethics, not a least bit of value for his own promises and more importantly is knowingly & willingly stealing money in the name of such work contracts. Please beware, do not provide any amount in advance, else you will be struck begging like the rest of us who have posted their reviews here. After so many days of requests, we have begun consulting lawyers and disability grievance services department. If we do not get our problem resolved soon, we are determined to pursue legal actions.

Please inform and post your reviews on as many venues possible so that others do not get cheated by Josh Convento's false promises.

Your job is completely finished with permits and all city inspections required. After all your false promises to have payments after a phase of the work was completed you are clearly a thief Beware of this customer Katvia. I had to make every effort to settle on my final payment which clearly you theft me out of more than half final payment and have no intentions of paying. I have all the videos and all the messages where you made bogus claims why you decided not to pay will be happy to share them with any one who wants proof of the excuses used by this customer Katvia to justify his bad intentions to not pay for services performed. You have used every excuse in the book to cheat me out of money you sir are a very a dishonest person you changed your mind after every item which was complete and clearly were asking for more and more additional services for FREE with out payment. You clearly used your disability to negotiate the price and reduce my original quoted price which I accepted because of your needs to have a safety exit when you clearly had no intentions of paying me on the project after every phased as agreed verbally and wanted me to perform an additional 1,000 dollars worth of services for free you demanding me to stain the remainder of the concrete which I stained for no cost to begin with to have the Hoa approve the project. Lesson learned for me to never do more than one project on a property at a time and never feel sympathy for any person no matter the situation or the circumstances of the customer.

Retaining Wall - Never finished or started construction
    $25,000
    169 days

This contractor signed a contract and required a 50% deposit of $25,000 to build my retaining wall. His guys have worked only 4 days since June 1st. He left our job without any notice, never starting construction, only demo of the old wall. He hasn't refunded our money and won't return our calls. The City of Dallas is aware of it and looking into revoking his permit and inspection privileges. Be careful! You can contact the city CRMS building inspector, Paul Williams, if you have any doubts.
