We engaged Corbett Design Build and paid $3000 in good faith. As soon as we had a need, they refused to complete the work, thereby forcing us to find another contractor to complete the work. This is undisputable. We are owed $3000 for breach of pre-construction agreement.
This is about a service we paid for and their refusal to perform that service.

Project was major renovation to take my home down to the foundation and leave most of the 1st floor flooring and then rebuild.
Good part was Barry Corbett was accommodating with changes to the design.
During the build Barry Corbett:
- Damaged my property by removing the following that was to be left in place per our contract:
- Entire 1st floor flooring system
- Entire foundation brick veneer
- Most of the cinder block foundation
- Removed a functional waste pipe
- Removed a functional water supply pipe
- Mismanaged the electrical subcontractor allowing unauthorized work and billing for it. No signed “change orders”.
- Ordered and installed the wrong windows on the entire house.
- Did not complete the screen porch framing I paid him for
- Did not complete the front porch framing I paid him for
- Did not complete the exterior trim in the design drawings we agreed to that I paid for.
Barry Corbett then abandoned the project and refused to communicate.
There are better choices of contractors in my opinion.
