Saif set a meeting time with me for around 11am, and I was therefore okay with an estimated arrival between 11 and 11:30 am at the latest. I messaged him to find out if he was on his way and when I might expect him. He messaged back that there was traffic and he would not be arriving until around 12:30, which is a full 90 minutes after our appointment time. Had I not messaged him, I probably would not have learned this because he did not bother to voluntarily update me first. Then he phoned me, and while we were speaking, he said he departed his home at 11:05am, and that really bothered me a lot, since that was the time we had agreed to meet. I felt he did not respect my time. When I expressed my frustration with his admitted late departure and my waiting around, he became belligerent, defensive, and acted like I had wronged him, instead of the other way around. He stated he had "gone out of the way to come see me while battling traffic", etc.. Basically he turned the tables on me, his potential customer, by making himself the victim. Under the circumstances, I told him I would have to discontinue this process with him. I was expecting much better professionalism and politeness from this contractor. At no point did he even attempt to apologize or express regret at leaving late for his appointment. I am supremely disappointed because he had done work for a nearby neighbor and I was genuinely looking forward to meeting him. Unfortunately his attitude and poor customer skills made that impossible.
Response from Core Construction Group LLC June 3, 2019I have been in this business for 20 years and never came across a inpatient and rude person as this individual. I have text messages of my conversation with this person supporting my case. I was asked to see her on the weekend and I told her I will come by Saturday afternoon. She replied with okay and if I can come earlier. I replied her with another text stating I will try to come by 11 and I will let her know. At no point I promised I will be there at 11 on the dot, and I have her messages saved and would be happy to share a screenshot of them with BuildZoom. On that Saturday May 18th we Brooklyn was having a marathon on ocean parkway which lead to street closures and that meant if anyone wants to go across ocean Pkwy would have to do detour cross over, and there are only 2 crossovers one is in the beginning of ocean Pkwy which is fort hamilton pkwy and one belt Pkwy. As I left Bay ridge Area to get her destination which is ave R and 31st I ended up in that traffic nightmare for the marathon. I hardly use my phone as I am driving I received a message from her shortly after 11am stating “Hello Saif, this is Linda Camarda. Any update as to arriving time? I have all these messages saved if BuildZoom would like to see them. We had talked about 11am as a target” I immediately called her back to update her with the situation, as I told her the situation she started getting nasty over the phone and gave me attitude. At that point I realized this person is not a good match for my business and I kindly asked her let me know do you still want me to come or no. She replied “ahhh this is frustrating with such loud screening voice” at the point I told her you know what I am not going to come so I hung up and turned around after sitting in traffic for 30-40 minutes. I am very easy going person and I put my 100% effort and sometimes go beyond to please my customers but her attitude was enough for me to call her off. Money is important but not that important for me to get involved with someone that is rude and does not appreciate my time and effort. In this business I travel and give folks free estimates knowing not all will hire me but that doesn’t mean I stop being nice or be rude to everyone. In this case I realized this individual has anger issues and got angry over a very minor issue and didn’t consider for a Moment this person is stuck in this traffic just for her instead she got nasty because I was not there at 11am which I never promised. I have message showing me saying in message “Okay no worries. If I can come earlier around 11 will let you know”. I can share this with BuildZoom or whomever would like to verify. I would gladly apologize if I had done something wrong, but I have not so I will say this I am sorry it didn’t work out the way you wanted it miss. I hope you can learn to appreciate people and work with them as they are trying to work with you. Take care and all the best. -

By MarvinAugust 4, 2018Verified HireBasement Waterproofing and repair
I hired Core Construction to repair a moisture damaged wall in my basement and to waterproof to prevent future damage. Saif provided me with a full evaluation and detailed plan for his work in about 3 hours of his visit. I also requested repair of damaged cement walls and steps leading to the basement. They completed the job today, within the estimated time. I am very pleased with the completed job. All of the work was done to very high, professional standards. Saif responded to phone calls immediately and communicated every step of the way. I found this refreshingly different from other contractors I tried to work with. I would highly recommend Core Construction Group. I plan to work with them again shortly.

We hired Core Construction Group to Renovate our 1st floor, we couldn't be more pleased with their service and results. The owner of the company was very nice and honest compared to all the others we screened. I would definitely recommend others, and will hire them again for future projects.

We hired them to renovate our basement and add a full bathroom. All work was completed in a timely and efficient manner. Communication was excellent during the entire process (which is rare in this industry). The finished project is beautiful and has added tremendous value to our home. I highly recommend this company and would work with them again in the future.
