First, let me say that I chose Rob and his crew based off of 2 items, his previous work reviews ( he even provided references) and the fact that he insisted that he would have my pool in first thing of the season. When I contacted him, I was adamant about being sure that the equipment was of great quality and that I was looking to have my pool as quick as possible. Once he gave me the info about pool options and pricing, he contacted me several times wanting to know what I thought and was I ready sign a contract with his company. I again went over my concern due to how construction and its delays ( I had a garage recently built and it took way past the finish time) seem to be happening in our area. He assured me again that it was of no issue and he could get it done. He stated that the pool would be delivered at our home in early April and that he would be out to start installation within an acceptable time. And since we were doing a heated pool that we might even get some use of it before the season opener. All looked and sounded great, I paid the deposit and signed a contract with him. On my end, I had a few items ( a fence and 2 small trees) that needed to be removed help it go faster once he started. I tried making contact with him about 6 weeks ahead of the scheduled date to be sure we where still on schedule and this way I had the items on my end complete for him. I had to leave a message, But I did not hear back from him. I waited a bit and tried again, this time we spoke but Rob stated that he didn’t have his schedule in front of him and he would call me back, unfortunately He never returned that call. All of April goes by and no word, so I contact him the first of May and he says the exact same thing, and again no return call. I try again and it’s the same. Finally I get a text on May 18th that says “ Hey David, I apologize for not calling you back. Your pool is scheduled for delivery next Friday. We will not be there to the following week to get started.” That would put the pool arriving at my house on the 26th of May and him working the next week. The 26th comes and there is no pool delivery to my house . I get a text later in the day from Rob stating, hey I have your pool and it is accompanied with a picture of what looks like what would be my pool. So the next week comes and no one shows up to work, not a text, not a phone call ( which unfortunately by this point feels to be expected at this point with the previous actions), no contact of any kind. This week comes, and is almost gone as it is Thursday and I have yet to hear a word. So here we are June the 8th and I have no pool, there has been no work started, I have no communication stating that the dates or work schedule changed, I have no info of any kind. I paid $30k and I basically have nothing to show for it other than a picture of what I was told was my pool. I felt like I didn’t just hire anyone, I didn’t just buy the cheapest, I put some work in, I did my part but it still just didn’t pan out. If you are a buyer, there isn’t an entire lot more you can do other than to just hold your breath and hope these contractors do what they say they will. And if not, as one contractor told me before “ that’s how it goes sometimes, the customer just has to eat the loss”.
