I purchased 51 sq ft of countertops for my kitchen from Home Depot. Their designated service provider in my area is MP Millwork.
The countertop was installed in four pieces. Three of the pieces need to be replaced:
1) Peninsula - MP Millwork did not follow its policy and did not bring the sink back to the shop. Therefore, the sink cut-out was too small. We were without a kitchen for three days while they modified the opening. The modification was subpar, so the Silestone has a wave where it meets the sink. They proposed to fill it in with even more silicone.
2) The piece next to the peninsula was left to set in place while we waited for the peninsula modifications. The installer made a notch in the back of this piece, so it did not sit flush against the wall. They filled it in with silicone.
3) My kitchen is in a U-shape, so there are two inside corner. The peninsula has a squared-off corner. But the other inside corner, 6' away is rounded off. They proposed to make modifications in the field, but their track record of shoddy workmanship leaves plenty to be desired.
They have an evident lack of a customer-facing project manager and quality control. The only way to obtain a response from MP Millwork is to complain to Home Depot because it impacts their KPIs.
Would you work with a company that forces you to go above their head to resolve an issue? I'm lucky because they have to answer to Home Depot. Other people are not.
