I have had a horrible experience with Covington Construction. I was told it would take 2 months to do my home remodel. It is now 8.5 months and the job isn't done. Bob Covington the owner refuses to go back to the work site because he states I owe him money for the framing of my porches. The bid stated that they were to remove and replace the porches and put on Trex decking. I was never asked to sign a work order stating I would pay extra. I did sign a work order at one point in the job for extra framing done in my kitchen. At no time was I ever informed that I would have to pay extra money for framing the porches. Now after the fact, Bob wants more money from me. I already paid him $5,872 to remove and replace my interior staircase. I'm left with fiberboard treads and no railing. I did specify with the project manager that I wanted hard wood treads. I asked Bob for an accounting of the supplies and labor that went into the interior staircase and was told by Bob that I wasn't entitled to it. Odd. I am the customer right? I am paying for the service right? In addition to the slow pace of work, I unfortunately paid Covington $4,102.00 to purchase some supplies for me that I intended to use to finish my home such as floor tile, shower tile, grout, mastic, hardy board, casing, base trim and crown molding. Covington didn't purchase the supplies and Bob refuses to refund me the money. This isn't a company that values the customer. Integrity and honor are missing!
