Jeff B. came to our home to install plumbing under two sinks. When leaving he asked if he was going to be paid by cash/check. He said he could provide a better deal if we paid cash, so we did (and will NEVER do again!!! - learned lesson=hard way). We didn't have the exact amount, so instead of appropriate change back, he charged us $20 more. Then, on top, he reportedly did not have his paperwork to give us an actual receipt because he "hasn't had my normal truck because it's been in the shop for 16 weeks" and instead scribbled on a piece of notepad paper, from another company, that our bill was paid in full and we were "all good" (see our scribbled receipt from Cox Plumbing, on Rundle-Spence's Plumbing, Heating, Industrial notepad paper... $360 for an hour and a half of work -- $360/90 min. = $4 a MINUTE - I am in the WRONG business!). So, no transaction number or anything. He stated he could drop an invoice off later today (we will see if this happens), once he gets back to the office... um, yeah, I hope so! I tried calling the company but the phone goes right to him and I want to speak with an owner. I've also emailed without success/response. Not only were we overcharged; but, he 'gave us a deal' with us paying cash then proceeded to charge us more anyway because we didn't have the correct amount (again, our mistake and hard lesson learned), there is no legit invoice - instead scribbling on another companies paper, and he WAY overcharged us.
Also, while I do not mean to be disrespectful, he has an ankle bracelet on... I don't know the reason for this, nor do I want to; but, if someone is coming to my house with one, I BETTER KNOW ABOUT IT BEFORE they get there or something (I don't know what that something would be...but still - please understand my perspective as a woman). Really glad my boys were home.
If Cox Plumbing reviews this, please have a manager/owner contact me as soon as possible to further discuss.
They have some really shady stuff going on.
Yes, again, hard lesson learned. But, we won't be using them for services ever again.
UPDATE (6.10.21): No receipt dropped off the same day. Sent a message and was told "not til tomorrow." No receipt still dropped off. Sent another message the following day and was told his truck is in the shop and because he has his daughter until Sunday, hasn't had time to get them. Now he is requesting us wait "a couple days" before he drops one off...I'm sorry but I don't understand as this is your business...so does that mean he's not giving anyone a receipt? Or just those that pay cash?
UPDATE (6.11.21): Jeff was at OUR NEIGHBORS HOUSE and provided services to them. He even had the audacity to say “hi” while he was there, but still did not leave a receipt for our job/payment. Interestingly, he did have and leave a receipt for them. Hmmmm. Something is not right and we are definitely NOT happy. A message was sent with inquiry to him, to no surprise, there has been no reply.
