Wish I could give them ZERO stars! The owner, Hillary Bello is a scam artist and one of the most unprofessional people I have ever met. I hope she is enjoying her new expensive home and vacations she takes on our dollar. DO NOT involve yourself in any monetary way with this woman.

It has been just about a year and we still do not have a completed pool. We keep getting lied to by Hillary. And have a lien on our home because she doesnt pay the subs. She just keeps stringing everyone along and owes money to so many people but yet takes your money with no problem. The state has been involved and doing their investigation. Not sure how she sleeps at night taking good people's money and not completing any jobs. Do not use this company ever. She can't pull permits in several counties due to so many being open. Worst experience ever and she is so rude and unprofessional to every customer.

By Lance S.April 1, 2022Build a pool$78,000
2 years later we finally have water in our pool but its not completed yet and has not passed the final inspection there is still items that need to be addressed We paid for a conversation pit at one end of our pool that includes a tabletop But now the owner is saying then she gave us credit for our tabletop which she did NOT! The owner also refuses to fix our decking and to finish it out, They sprayed our pebble tach the wrong color and on top of that we just received a certified letter in the mail saying they are about to put lean on our house because Cox pools did not pay the bill They've forgot to run electric for a LED light for inside the waterfall the owner is claiming she gave us credit for that and she did NOT! A bulldozer hit the back of our house putting a hole in it the owner said she will have it fixed and she never has. We had all kinds of planning issues that cox initially had plumped everything wrong everything had to be redone And now we are having to add water to our pool every single day it has a leak.

If you are considering signing a contract with Cox Pools run don't walk to a better and more professional pool contractor. My bad review will mirror the others here and go beyond. When they began the excavation they did not protect my side walk and ended up cracking three sections at first the owner Hillary Bello said she would not replace since it was the poor quality of my side and that they had put plywood over to protect but once my neighbor told me he watched them run over it unprotected she eventually made it sound like she would fix. I waited maybe 6 months for this to happen I got feed up with this and paid 1600.00 my self to repair before someone tripled over it and got hurt. Now my neighbors two houses down have Tampa Bay Pools building for them and they have plywood and dirt protecting there side walk very professional. Once the pool shell was completed Cox Pool were supposed to have there guys grade around the pool this also went on for months and I ended up paying my landscaper to grade so I could get sod down to stop the dirt from eroding. We had two left over pallets of pavers sitting on the side of my house for months I was told repeatedly by there foreman they would have them picked up I ended up loading them in my personnel truck and hauling them to a dumpster on my construction site. I was told week after week they would be out to install the pool equipment not sure how long this went on but it was at least two months. I am a senior superintendent with a national general contractor with over 40 years of commercial construction experience. I blame myself for not doing more research and just going by word of mouth. Maybe they were once a good contractor maybe. I have worked with thousand of contractors over the years and Cox Pool rates as one of the worst ever. When we first meet at my home before construction began I asked one simple request keep me informed this is how a professional contractor should operate. For the most part the only communication was after I had to send emails to Hillary Bello asking why they were not doing what they told me they would. Cox Pools talks up this builders app to keep us informed of work that is scheduled and inspections and pictures of work in place short of a couple communications from Cox the only thing this is for is to request payment. The fact that per there contracts you have to pay the final balance before the pebble tech is applied should have been a red flag once we paid in full trying to get all the loose ends complete is still ongoing maybe five moths now. They owe us sun shelf chairs that were part of our contract I have asked about these for months and was finally just told they are on back order it's been almost exactly a year since they broke ground. They owe us pool school the one time it was scheduled there guys didn't show up. They failed the electrical final for the 2nd time two days ago the first time they failed was 12.7.21 that's 2 months. The electrical inspector told me they never passed the pool bonding/ grounding inspection back in February 2021and now he's telling me the only way it will pass is for Cox Pool to either pull up all the pavers and expose the cable or get an electrical engineer to sign off on this. we were told by the foreman Greg that we weren't supposed to use the pool until all inspections were completed but also said who will know. So of course we used the pool after waiting months longer than we were told it would take. Hillary Bello keep telling me the bond inspection passed just on the older inspection system the electrical inspector said this was not so. So the entire time we were using the pool this life safety inspection had not been singed off on by Hillsborough C0. Now we have no idea if our pool is safe to swim in. I will end the way I started run don't walk to a competent pool builder

I would not recommend Cox Pool to build a pool for anybody, not even a bird bath. The owner Hillary is a rude, nasty person who does communicate with the home owner. The subs are not quality works and work is below average, especially the plumbers. Cox pool does not keep a clean working area during the installation process. Please don't use Cox pool it will be a nightmare forever. Don't use Cox and Hillary, she was part of another bad pool company that went out of business performing the same way Cox pool does now... DON'T USE COX POOL

I would not recommend this pool builder to anyone. This was supposed to be an 8-10 week project that is now on month 9 and Cox Pools cant even give a completion date. Hillary and Jeff are completely dishonesty, Rude, and do not communicate. Hillary has even gone as far as to say she will not communicate with us any longer due to us calling her out on their lies and continued excuses.
Our pool shape and dimensions are completely wrong. Everything they have done has to be done more than once because it was all done incorrectly and everything they've done has failed inspection at least once.
They build a below average pool for not a below average price. The only time they do communicate is when they want $$$. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with any home project. Trust me pay a little more if you have to, but do not use this company. They have no integrity and will leave you frustrated beyond belief.

Our experience with Cox has not been good. They do not complete work within their promised time frame. Our dig started 8/2020 and inspections are outstanding as of 04/2021. The work that is completed is not checked by a superintendent that is supposedly managing the job and as a result, the outcome is poor. We have had multiple leaks, had to abandon the in-floor cleaning system, did not get refunded for non-functioning equipment, never received pool school, and the list goes on...

If I could chose a zero to rate this company, it would be too high. Our pool and spa project started in March 2021. The salesman, Jeff, said it would take 6-8 weeks to complete. After paying $132k by June 2021, our project was about 70% completed, and nothing has been done by them since November 2021. I had to hire someone on my own for the pool cage because Cox couldn't find anyone to do the job. The owner is rude and nasty and has no people skills. Continuous delays and excuses and pushed back dates for completion were given. After having another contractor look at the project, we found out that the spa was too deep and needed to be cut down 4 inches, and the piping they used was substandard. Cox also charged us for top grade travertine and gave us the low grade quality. They also did not run the plumbing pipes to the bubblers on the two sun shelves. When I asked for a refund for the portion of the work that was not completed, the owner said she would not refund any money, not even the $5,250 we paid for the deck seal that we no longer wanted done. Cox has abandoned my project, and I have to pay another contractor more than $50k to complete the work. BUYER BEWARE..DO NOT USE COX POOLS OF THE GULF COAST!!
