    Master bathroom remodel

This is a follow up review on my previous master bathroom remodel experience listed above. Within a year of remodel of my second floor master bathroom remodel I had water leaking through the ceiling onto the hardwood floors of my first floor dinning room. Paid for an emergent plumber who had to cut multiple holes in my tray ceiling to find the leak. Aaron Coy told me that placing a drain outside of the shower was to code, only to have the plumber and other contractors tell me you would never do this. An additional drain is usually placed outside of showers in a basement and then the concrete floor is typically graded towards the drain in case of a leak. I was informed that this was never needed in an upstairs bathroom, and was completely unnecessary. So the drain I didn't need caused all these problems. The holes in the ceiling showed the subfloor had a large rectangle cut through it, drain placed with support only on two sides of subfloor and then 1 foot tiles slapped around the drain and in areas the tiles had no subfloor beneath them, they were partially floating. Grout fractured over time, six tiles became loose because of movement and water easily worked its way through the grout from my master bath to the ceiling of my dinning room and onto the hard wood floors below. Not to code and very poor workmanship. Gave contractor an opportunity to repair and similar to before poorly organized. Kept telling me it would take 2 days to fix no big deal. Then sent people over in a half assed fashion to do a couple hours of work at a time, never completing anything. There were weeks of being blown off in-between minimal work and I became angry having my bathroom emptied (because they could not work in a place that was not cleaned out.) After two months of constantly being blown off I fired him. I found out he has a suspended license with the state and is not insured. Subsequently I could no longer be friends with the guy that "highly recommended" this contractor to me because I felt so screwed over. I found out later one of the people I work with used Aaron Coy on a massive remodel and had a nightmare experience. Was promised an 8 week first floor/ kitchen, bathroom remodel that took 8 months. Their family went through periods of incredible stress, frustration and anger. We work at a hospital and both of us went around to everyone our "friend" had recommended this contractor to, explaining our bad experiences which fortunately did shut down a fair amount of work for Aaron. But please don't use this contractor. He lacks professionalism, does not do what he says he is going to do, hires unskilled labor which he pays under the table, does not supervise unskilled labor and their work ultimately requires many do overs to get it correct or you have to hire a competent contractor to complete the job correctly to code. There are still things I am having to pay a qualified contractor to fix on my master bathroom remodel and this is now two years later. This is ridiculous and I am incredibly angry at my previous friend who "highly recommended" Aaron to me.

    Inside work
    $5,000

I'm shocked at Coy Construction's behavior and lack of professionalism. They demanded a crazy amount of money for a tiny job, which we paid on time, thinking we were working with good people because of their reviews. That was a mistake. They were weeks late actually starting AND finishing and then demanded to get paid the remaining balance before I could even see the finished work. I've never done business with people like this. As I said, it's absolutely shocking. When I asked if I could pay half of the remaining balance and then pay the rest after viewing to make sure I was happy and nothing else needed to be done, they got a friend of theirs to call me and demand money! I mean, you can't make this up. I feel like I worked with the mafia or something! If you're looking for a contractor, may I suggest you look elsewhere? You can thank me later.
