A half bath of 1x2 feet sq. needed to be redone after water damage. We were told that it would be a few days' work and a contract was signed...
7 months later, the half bath was abandoned 3 months ago and the builder has stopped responding with:
- the pain job half done (the walls or the cabinet),
- uneven walls with obvious defects not corrected before the 1st coat,
- a floor which was supposed to be with a pattern but since it was done by 4 different people has some obvious defects in the pattern as the tiles were not applied correctly and are now stuck there. Forever.
- the backsplash around the washbasin not done,
- the toilet was installed but the finishing touches never done, such as cutting and hiding the holding screws, 1/4 of the caulking around it done,
- the shelves never installed.
We paid on top of the contract for the toilet, the tap, the sink stopper and some of the floor tiles because they kept running out and leaving once they were out.
The floor nearby was not protected when the tiles were glued so we got glue on our nearby wooden floors from the contractor shoes. The brand new floor was unprotected when they started the paint and got paint all over it (not cleaned either). They would come back the next day to finish...(but never did). They left the rolls and painting stuff they had borrowed from us dirty on the front porch.
Additionally, the contractor asked for a key but we always had to be home when they came. Not ideal for working professionals.
Overall the job was incredibly sloppy and felt unprofessional on many levels. Paying that amount of money to clean after the contractors and finish the bathroom myself, no thank you, never again!
