Not happy with this contractor as they do not take credit cards and they did not provide a breakdown of costs by parts, labor, etc. My renter contacted a plumber who is a father of a client unbeknown to me and the plumber replaced the water heater as a "side job" not pulling the required permit for inspection. When he called to "meet in person" for cash or check made out to his name, I asked what company he works for and he stated "Got Plumbing". I called Got Plumbing to run it by them and ask if they take credit cards, they in fact do and that plumber does work for them. They were to call me back the next day to obtain the invoice and arrange payment over the phone. 1 week later, Sean Craig's Plumbing call and left a message "Hi this is Sue. I'm calling to arrange billing and payment for work that Mike apparently did work for you". Another week later, Dean at Got Plumbing calls to let me know that they did not call back to bill as Mike purchased the heater under Sean Craig's company and that he messed up. No written contract prior to work and this was not an emergency situation. I prefer to use credit cards for my rental property for better book-keeping and for tax purposes. I contacted the city to inquire about permits for the property and none were applied for until I pushed the issue of not paying until they pulled the appropriate permit. The customer should not have to force them to do what is required.
