Sfr-custom in subdivision. It's disturbing that Creative Renovations is still in business. His contract was not worth the paper it was written on. None of the stipulations were adhered to. Change orders were not provided, nor were any plans/drawings ever changed for subcontractors to refer to. After running a year and 2X over budget, he was FIRED. We were trying to maintain the relationship, but it had gone 'way too far. He was paid over $550,000 (our mistake), and provided, at best, $250,000 in value (as estimated by other construction professionals), without even reaching successful rough trades inspection. ROC was contacted, but wouldn't do anything because "nothing was finished". What WAS done was in some way incorrect, including foundation, electrical, plumbing, framing, roof, windows and doors, causing over $70,000 in rework and repair. We did try to get a few of his subcontractors to return to finish what they had started. Most were reluctant because they had not been paid, and were told that we, as homeowners, had not paid Creative Renovations. So that was 10's of thousands of dollars MORE that were absconded with on our project, along with cutting corners and using materials/equipment we specifically didn't want.
In our estimation, this individual is NOT TO BE TRUSTED, with ANYTHING, in any manner, shape or form. We were grossly taken advantage of. NOT RECOMMENDED.
