We made a major mistake hiring Mike Delisle to build a pool and landscape our home. I wish I had seen a review (like this) before hiring his company. Don't be fooled because He is a nice person. This is the worst type of contractor one can get because he can talk a great game and has enough decent references to hide from the really bad ones. The workmanship and supervision was dreadful. Our project was delayed by over 7 months and he ran out of money. I was forced to re-work our contract or file a lawsuit. Many simple things had to be done 3 times and they are still defective. From defective concrete (severely cracked in every location) to cheap materials (rusty gate hinges). He was unable to complete my project. The barbeque, fire pit, gates, fences...etc were all taken off his contract and I had to sub-contract out these items (and many others) to get my project finished. To this day, Mike Delisle does not return phone calls to repair defective work by his company. If I can save one person from the mistake we made, this review was worth writing. If you have any questions, feel free to call me at 650-218-6944.

Creative Yards and Pools was referred to us by a painter we have used for several years. We had talked to a few other companies already about the same project and weren't thrilled with any of them, so we figured we would give them a call.
Mike Delisle responded very quickly to my first call and within a few days we setup a time for him to come out and look at our yard and talk about our project. He instantly came across as being much more knowledgeable and friendly than the other companies I had met with. He asked questions and talked about things I never would have though about. After receiving their estimate we decided to hire them for the project.
The night before the Monday that work was scheduled to start I received an email from their office manager confirming the work and letting me know the crew, along with Mike, would arrive the following morning at 7am to start. A 7am start for most contractors means you should expect them to start showing up by 8, but by 6:45 I saw two trucks in front of our house and by 7 the crew was there and Mike was ready to do a final walk-through of the project, which included a drainage system, irrigation system with controls, and substantial back-filling of a multi-tier retaining wall system.
Scott, the foreman assigned to our project, along with the rest of the crew were fantastic. They were friendly, hardworking, courteous and respectful of our time and home. At every step of the way they did little things that went above and beyond our expectations. They repaired a wooden walkway that was by no means in the scope of the project, but did it "just because". They also re-sanded our paver walkway. Again- this was not included in the scope of the project! These guys know their stuff and make a point to do things right, even when it means extra work on their part.
These are professionals to every degree of the word and I cannot recommend them more highly. We have already talked to them about doing more work in our front yard and look forward to that project in the coming years. I don't know what's going on the weird Yelp reviews and filtering, but don't trust the 1-star review. This company is top notch.
