Crews Contracting took on a home renovation project that I had in the Mexican War Streets neighborhood in Pittsburgh. The home renovation already had one contractor abandon the job and Tom Crews knew how much of a bind I was in. Unfortunately, I ended up having to leave the city for work before the job was completed. This was at the end of May 2017. Tom promised me to have my job wrapped up before July 2017. My wife went back to Pittsburgh to prepare the home for sale and nothing had been done in the time we were gone. Tom gave a long song and dance about his partner abandoning our job and that he would personally oversee it's completion. We gave him until September 2017 to wrap up the work. A week before our scheduled return to Pittsburgh I got a call requesting $30k. Tom threatened to abandon the job if I didn't issue a payment for this amount. I reluctantly sent him the money. When I arrived in Pittsburgh a week later, nothing more had been done since July. On top of that, Tom Crews was in Costa Rica.
I ended up having to find my own sub contractors to finish the work.
I would advise anyone to steer clear at all costs.
