After I paid over 90% of the money, Mr Vega started to disappear. All started on Friday Aug 2nd, 2013. He arrived at 9 am not to work, but to pick up tools to take to another place where he was starting a project with his team. He mentioned that he run out of money on my project and did not have money to pay his team so he needed to take another job during the day and come at night to work on my house. BTW, while he is telling me this, he was detaching the blue tape from the already painted walls and took off not only the paint but also the texture of the walls. This happened all across my house (I have pictures). I was stressed since I was relocating my family on Aug 15th, moving from the Bay Area. He said not to worry because he was going to finish the project. I went on a business trip and came back a week later, nothing changed. He didn’t come back after 8/2. I was now one week from moving in (I could not reschedule, my other house was sold and the moving company was scheduled). I ask Mr.Vega via text, what it needed to come back to finish. He asked for $2,500 in advance. I was afraid to pay this money in advance since I had already paid him 90% of the project and he never came back. He said he needed the money to pay his team. I offered to pay the extra cash when the project is finished and to pay directly his workers since the money was for them. He refused and told me to deal directly with his workers, which are not licensed. Unfortunately I tried to find another licensed painter and it was impossible so I went ahead and offered the $2,500 to Mr. Vegas’ two workers. They were able to start the job on Aug 15th (on moving day), so I moved my family to a hotel for 10 days and had to put all my staff in storage. Besides the $2,500 I had to spend over $600 in materials that I paid to Mr Vegas, but there were not there. Besides the financial, it created a lot of stress to my family and me. I estimate I incurred in $5,700 extra cost (Hotel $2,000, Meals $600, materials $600, Labor $2,500).

Holy cow- I thought I'd see a bunch of 5-stars for Christian, not a bad review. We have used him simply because he was our builder's painter, but I can tell you not all the subcontractors were not as good as Christian. He is a real stand out. He is very respectful, and professional but the thing that makes him stand out is his passion for his product. When I pointed out an area that they'd forgotten to paint (a window sill) he was absolutely mortified and ended up not only fixing that, but taking it upon himself to fix the marks where our children had put their hands not he walls during move-in. He never charged a penny and kept apologizing. I was just online to look for Christian's number for another project, because he is definitely our guy and saw the bad review. I absolutely wanted to fix that because we have been extremely happy with his work. Neighbor in The Avenues, Redondo
