Curtis Construction is listed as an Andersen window supplier so that's how we came upon them unfortunately. The window installation has been a nightmare and continues to be. They were suppose to order Andersen black interior and white exterior windows and when the windows arrived(outside and when no one was home,) there were major portions of the interior of the windows that were white. They are basically pinstriped. They claim the contract says we own the windows and there are no returns or exchanges. They also state the contract has been lost. After painfully deciding to go ahead and have the windows installed and potentially paint them ourselves, the company failed to put the exterior trim back up on the house. They threw it away and no new trim was installed. They claim we said we were going to do the exterior trim ourselves which is a lie. We did do the interior trim ourselves so it would look how we wanted it to, thankfully. As of 11/10/21 are waiting for a response from the company. The communication through out this process has been unacceptable. Most the windows were installed in August and the last one(a replacement for a broken one) was installed November 8th and isn’t plumb so it will need adjusted before we install the interior trim. Insulation was also left all around the house in August. The owner, Aaron Curtis, has blamed all problems on his staff and/or the lumber supply company(Chisholm Lumber) that sourced the 11 windows. $16k later and I wouldn’t recommend this company to even hang a coat rack.

On October 19, 2021, we entered into a contract & paid Aaron Curtis a 50% deposit to measure, order & install a replacement window. On April 27, 2022, an attempt was made to install the wrong sized window (note that Aaron was on-site for the original measurement). Despite assurances from his project manager that the correct window was on order and delayed over the next 3 months, neither Aaron nor his project manager has responded to any of our attempts to contact them for 3+ months…
It appears that Aaron has moved on and taken a full-time job with another company without the decency to respond or inform us that he no longer intended to honor the contract we signed with him. Since he has LLC liability protection, it is pointless to pursue litigation to get our money back since he closed his business office and no doubt pulled all his/our money out of his LLC.
If Aaron Curtis ever decides to start another business, or re-engage as Curtis Construction, any prospective customer should be pre-warned that they are dealing with someone who does not reflect the “Mid-Western values” or competency that his contract and marketing literature professes.
