Jeff Ralston, Custom Construction of CA was my general. I paid him by the hour and purchased supplies. He woks works by hour or bid. He is very much of a perfectionist. He is also very honest. I live in Tucson in the winter. He had the keys and worked finishing things we'd discussed before I left. I pay once a week to keep things simple for me. He'd send a pic, I'd pay through Zelle. He had someone else working with him at times, but he's careful who he hires. We had a fire about a month into the project that burned two new decks. He took some of the charred material home, planed it down and trimmed out the front porch with redwood I wouldn't have been able to buy. Living in a rural area limits your choice at times unless you want to wait months for a special order. Jeff was raised in a local town, moved away for a while to graduate from college, then moved his family back because this is home.
