    Pole Barn project

    Very little went well. He didn't know what he was doing. When I told him how anything was wrong he argued with me. The quality was very bad. Nothing custom anything. Holes in the roof and walls from screws that missed the wood. Trusses not plumb, boards on the sides not level. One board I measured was 1 1/2 inches out in 9 feet. Concrete is wavy. Had to put 120 pounds of concrete leveler in a small area just to get it close level. I fired him. He said I still owed him $1000. I told him that he wasn't getting any more money out of me. He said it will cost me more if I didn't pay him. He put an excessive lien on the property for $12,125. I had to file a summons and complaint with the county.

    If there was a zero I would enter it. Would definitely NOT use them again nor would I recommend them to anyone. Price changed daily, said he would do certain things and when questioned he said it would be extra. Was more interested in what was in my garage that he could use than he was in finishing the job I hired him to do. NO reason to even be in my garage but he was in there almost daily. I gave him 2 riding mowers that no longer worked and he had employees working on those instead of doing the work, not to mention using the tools in my husbands tool boxes. It took them over a week to do lawn work and to build 3 steps and a hand rail in the back of my house. The only reason it got done in a week was because I got angry and told him I felt like he was putting me on the back burner while he went to other jobs. His reply was "Well You didn't seem like you were in a hurry. He even left here one day and told me he was leaving to go bid on another job. The first 2 days he was only here an hour at the very most. Part of the job he bid on was to pull weeds in the front of the house inside the gate and the flower beds. His solution was to weed whack them all down and call it good. I told him that was not weeding and he said a lot of contractors do that and that they wern't going to do all the weeds by hand because they had all ready weeded them. We argued and one of the workers said she would go ahead and do it. He suggested putting bark over the weeds. He said he would pick up and dispose of a pile of leaves and grass in the back yard for$30. After he had done this he told me it was going to cost $150.00. I told him No I wouldn't pay that as he said he would take care of it in the initial bid. He said well it cost him money to dispose of it. The weeds, grass, and clippings from the shrubs he just dumped over the edge of my property between my self and the neighbors (4-6) garbage cans full. When I questioned him on this, he said "Well it's bio degradable".By the end of the week I just wanted them gone. I am usually calm and a slow to anger person but this company tested my patience to the MAX!! To say I am angry and frustrated is an understatement! I asked him repeatedly for a contract and his answer was yes I will do it later. Never got one , but this is also on me for not insisting on one. I felt like he saw an older woman, who needed help with yard work and was taking full advantage of the situation. I've had this yard work done before by family members (who were unavailable at the time) and it has only taken 1 1/2 days. Price for this job $2,500.00.
