Custom House General Construction

I hired Mat Acar, owner of Custom House General Construction, to remodel my neo-angle shower. The job was to expand the shower and tile the base floor and wall. He sub-contracted the work out to a person named Muhammad who I thought worked for his company. Mat did supervise his work. Two years later after the work was done, I took a shower like I normally do and went downstairs to the kitchen to make myself something to eat. I looked at the ceiling and noticed a bubble. When I poked at it the sheet rock was soft. Clearly, I had a leak. I hired a plumber from Crowley Plumbing & Heating and he said the leak was coming from the shower in my bathroom. When I contacted Mat, he came out with his associate (never seen before). I showed him the report from my plumber and where my plumber cut into the sheet rock on the 1st floor of the kitchen ceiling to diagnose the problem. I offered to turn on the water in my shower to show him the leak down to the 1st floor but he didn't want me too. He blamed the leak on the slight space between the closed shower door and one of the side glass panels. I was so pissed!!!!! I said if that was the case I would have water coming out of the shower and my bathroom floor would be flooded! He told me that I would have to pay him again to fix it and if I wanted to sue him to go ahead. He said in the state of PA the warranty is only good for 1 year. I got different quotes from different contractors to fix the problem. They said the reason for the leak is the liner didn't extend over the lip before you step into the shower. Because of this, there is no buffer and the water goes straight down to the 1st floor. I didn't have the money so I was forced to go through my homeowner's insurance (Allstate). Allstate's claim adjuster, Dan Cosgrove, came out and said they will send out there plumber to investigate. Allstate's plumber, R. E. Pileggi & Sons, conducted a dye test to determine the source of the leak. R. E. Pileggi & Sons came to the same conclusion as the previous contractors I called to get estimates to fix the problem. Allstate paid for my claim and sued Custom House General Construction (called subrogation). I showed up as a witness. Mat Acar did not show up at all. Nobody did representing Custom House General Construction. They now have a judgement against them for $4,327.10. Docket #: MJ-07207-CV-0000077-2015 filed in Bucks County, PA. Also, I filed a complaint with the state of PA.

There brochure says "Where quality comes first." This is false advertising! Custom House doesn't stand behind there work at all. They are incompetent and do not care about the customer. They care about taking your money. DO NOT HIRE THEM TO DO WORK IN YOUR HOME. YOU WILL REGRET IT!
