A painfull experience
When we first met with Rich and Trena Casa to discuss our possible pool build, we brought our property survey, and a specific design idea. We knew our yard was a bit of a challenge to build a pool in, as our house is set back, leaving only a little room to build on. We told them about our ten foot easement, and after looking at the information we brought with us, Rich informed us that there’s no way we have an easement that big, as it was not on the survey. He told us with certainty that we could build the pool we wanted. We figured he was the pool builder, he must know more than we do, and we set about picking options, discussing design and going to contract. While our pool was in the permitting process, the zoning portion kicked it back, because we have a ten foot easement! We discussed getting a variance so we could build what we wanted, and we asked for guidance from Custom Pools by Precision. We were given the exact opposite advice that we needed, we went to the variance pre-meeting and when we left, we thought, no way.
As a team, we were not in agreement, one of us wanted to walk away because the pool design would have to change dramatically, the pool builder had already lied to us several times, creating a distrust to move forward. While the other one, wanted to move forward anyway. To make a long story short, we should have walked away and gotten our deposit back. The build with this company was so painful, the attitudes and passive aggressive texts, emails along with the horrible contractors and employees made this a nightmare. Then you add insult to injury because the pool they dug and built, was not only inside the easement we needed to avoid - THEY GAVE THE CONTRACTORS THE WRONG DRAWING! We do not have the pool we contracted for! We argued consistently with the builder to keep the pool decking out of the easement, that they kept building it in. The owner is too simple to understand that you can’t build a pool inside an easement, and even if you get away with it at the build, how can you sell your home without a variance with a pool inside the easement? The lack of intelligence running this company is scary.
We read the bad reviews before hiring this contractor, we even asked the owners about it, and they made some excuse and said it was unfortunate. Seriously, read the reviews, and take them to heart. How many people are dissatisfied with this company and do not recommend you hire them. The reviews are real, and they’re accurate. Stay away from Custom Pools with Pain! Not worth your time and money. There has to be a better pool builder out there, or even at the very least, a company who isn’t rude and inconsiderate to their own clients.
