Robert gave me a quote for stucco repair by sending him two pics from my phone, he was at my place in two days and the patch looks great. He quoted me a very fair price and I highly recommend him!

Rob was hired to recoat my entire home and bring areas up to code that were not. My wife and I were very excited about this since we had lots of cracks and weathered stucco on the home that needed covered up.
Rob and his crew were unprofessional and at times extremely difficult to work with. Good work quality and communication were nearly non-existent. Aside from only having 2 people on his crew, one that spoke no English and the man's son who was lazy and mouthy, the work itself was sloppy, poorly applied and uneven in color and texture. Pop outs were redone and are all different widths. Stucco is over applied in corners, edges and expansion joints. 3 areas that were overlooked on the original application were applied using a float rather than a trowel for a quick fix causing an ugly gummy, battered appearance. Rob has attempted multiple times to fix these problem areas but this has only led to more problems and have forced us to look elsewhere for assistance.
Little care was taken to keep stucco off items around my home and out of my lawn. This included windows and window wells, shed, hose reel, brick and concrete, garage doors and trimming around them, gutters and spouts, vinyl fence, etc. He used plastic under his scaffolding but did not place any over the items I mentioned. The job ended a month ago and I'm still finding tape, cigarette butts, screws, staples and stucco in my grass and flower beds and dried stucco remains on many of those items today.
Trash was left on site nightly and my window wells still have garbage in them left behind by him and his crew. When I mentioned that I would like him to clean up nightly so my kids or pets weren't at risk at having a nail, screw or staple stuck in their foot Rob got upset and just walked away. There is just absolutely no care or concern given to the owner's property.
Mentioning any concerns or issues I found led to a myriade of excuses, backlash and debate. Rob does not like being told something needs fixed and after failed attempts to fix things he considers the owner too difficult to please. All I expected was the house to look as it did before he started the work, but with a fresh coat of stucco. Unfortunately that is not what I got. Much of the work Rob did has to be redone by another contractor because he would rather perform the easier wrong than the harder right. I'm now having to elevate my case to the BBB and the city of West Jordan because he has refused to return my money and I can no longer continue to have him attempt to repair things he is incapable of fixing. Rob did make efforts to return to fix deficiencies. At best, these were bad attempts at getting me out of his hair rather than actual efforts to repair poor workmanship. He doesn't truly care about the quality of the work and the manner or time in which it gets done.
I have had 2 contractors view the home recently to give me an idea of how bad the work is. Right off both contractors noticed that primer (Primus) was NOT used. Like paint, primer is a base coat that helps the stucco stick to the existing stucco. Unlike paint, Primus also acts as a filler similar to spackle. It helps fill in the existing stucco's texture pockets and help smooth out uneven surfaces for which the stucco can better be applied. What I also found out was when stucco is applied directly on existing stucco the existing stucco absorbs a lot of the new stucco which creates uneven surfaces and varying texture patterns. This was evident when Robert told me he had to use 30 buckets of stucco when he quoted me for 16. He made it seem as though I was getting a better deal when in reality he would've saved money had he done the job the right way and just used the Primus ahead of the recoat. Lessons learned for both of us.
All in all I had the worst contracting experience of my life and unfortunately the most expensive. I've given Rob many opportunities to make things right but he has opted to move things another direction. A direction I would have liked to avoid.
