    New Roof and skylights
    $13,000
    21 days

From beginning to end I had a wonderful experience with Customline Roofing--I live out of town and Customeline went within a few days gave me a bid that they stuck to--and even worked with me when I could not pay in full--and added NO interest--all with a sense of humor and compassion----and were finished ON TIME---they waited for my final payment for over 5 weeks----and when I shorted them 40 dollars by accident --Ruthie at Customline laughed it off because of my poor math skills---and the job was beautiful. New Roof and 9 skylights----all after tearing out severe Rot and mold. I work with a lot of people through different businesses--To feel valued as a customer and treated as an individual is rare in this day and age. Thank you Ruthie and Phillip Marlow and all at Customline Roofing. Ellen Stephens

    My horrible experience

I do not recommend this contractor. I would have rated him 3, 4, or maybe even 5 stars had he appropriately dealt with an issue that we had, however he chose to deal with it poorly and thus the rating.
Customline Roofing (led by Phillip Marlow) roofed our home while we were overseas. Upon completing work, he billed me for nearly double the amount in the estimate. In the discussions following the final bill, he continually told me I was aware of his intent all along, and after repeatedly asking him why his intent was not simply captured in the initial estimate, and why I was not asked for authorization of a near double in cost, he refused to provide me any evidence other than 'we talked about it'. After continued refusals to provide me evidence, he turned my case over to an unscrupulous collection agency on the other side of the US in Florida. Their first action was to send a threatening and harassing email, lying about how they have attempted contact with me and that I have ignored it.

Don't get me wrong, these guys appear to be great roofers. However, I do not recommend hiring this contractor unless you are prepared to micromanage, and navigate the treacherous waters of his integrity. Also be advised he is generally difficult to work with, as he cannot construct coherent thoughts or sentences and he occasionally lies (one that nearly cost me an additional $2000 had I not been vigilant). He also has the expectation that his clients understand roofing jargon and will not educate you unless you drill him with questions. Such is the price for the lowest bidder; I won't be making that mistake again.

If he denies any of this publicly, and anyone is interested, I will gladly present the evidence to show that this is the truth. I would hate for someone else to fall victim to his negligence.
