Joey Davidson is a con man. He will take your money and run for the hills. Some days he comes to the job 4 hours late, other days he just does not show up. He always has one excuse after another why something is not completed. He is one of the most unethical people i have met in my entire life. The sad thing is that his parents enable him. If you plan on hiring this guy, make sure you do your homework. This guy is pure evil!!!!!!

Excellent, absolutely wonderful to have met Joseph the Owner of D&G.
He went out of his way to help our family. He was always a phone call away if we had any questions. The design ideas he put in our home was straight out of a magazine. Now I have read all of his reviews, and for all the consumers out there. It’s 1 person trashing his Character and Company. Sounds to us this person is trying to purposely hurt him. He was the sweetest most honest Contractor I ever had. So it’s a shame this one person that has bad mouthed him on every website review. This is a persons life, and my Family and I personally met his family and kids. And to talk so negatively about someone is a disgrace.
It’s a disgrace “Mr Don R.”
It could all be a lie cause he is trying to hurt this Company, Father.
And reading all “Mr Don R’s” Reviews, I can tell you he knows nothing of construction or how it works.
Don’t mind any negativity on D&G, cause it’s all from the same person.
Thank you Joey for all your hard work, we will be referring you to everyone.
Only true honest man out there.
God bless to you and your Family. -

Please for your sake - do not hire this contractor or work with this individual in any situation. He provided me the absolute worst experience, with a good almost finished project - but only because of legal threats, talking to his family and subcontractors to get to this point. **He has left live wires, lack of heat, water line leaks and other situations to occur out of carelessness**
Here is my story:
-My wife and I are 32 and were preparing for our first child to be born on February 8th 2020. In preparation for this I went through 7 different contractors and found Joseph Davidson with D&G Construction. We started work with him on December 4th 2020 and he gave us a 14 day estimated completion timeframe.-I explained to Joe that the most important thing to me was sticking with the timeline of this project being completed by February 8th, in preparation for my son. He said absolutely no problem - my project would take an estimated 10-14 days to finish. He started work on December 4th 2020.
-As we hit the tail end of December he signed a contract guaranteeing a completion date of 1/27/2020. He was about only 30% complete at the date of 1/27. My son was born 1/26/2020
-At this point I was afraid of losing my money and contacted lawyers, his family, after not hearing anything back from Joe. A lot of excuses about the problems in his life etc came out...where he said he was putting everything into finishing the job as soon as he could.
-We got to 3/6 and the temporary housing situation we had - we no longer had. I had to speak to his father, his subcontractors, and beg and plead explaining to him that we didn't have a place to live and he was 2 months overdue for this project. He said he would get it done.
-Instead we moved into a half completed house, with no heat - with a newborn., It took until the end of April for my house to get near a finishing stage. However Joe never made a priority to fix me heat.
This project is still not complete. As of 5/31/2020 I will be firing and pursuing legal action against the contractor as he then as no legal recourse after putting my family in such a bad situation.
****Please do yourself a favor and do not hire this person. He is full of lies, false commitments, shows up 3+ hours late if he shows up. He does not pay his employees. He gave me a 14 day estimated completion time, and instead has taken almost 6 months. I feel for the stories he has told me about his personal life - but his personal life apparently is so bad that he cant focus on his job at all.****

By K. D.January 30, 2020Remodeling and repairs to a house$6,000
STAY CLEAR OF THIS CONTRACTOR - JOSEPH DAVIDSON III.
We hired Mr. Davidson remodel a bathroom, repair roof leak and replace flooring in kitchen, bathroom, dining room and keeping "entry" room of house. Added additional work incl. kitchen ceiling, relocating washer/dryer into closet, painting/carpet laying in one bedroom and adding a new granite kitchen counter. All started out well. Mr. Davidson received initial deposit and work "began". Add'l. funds were requested towards other contracts "added" above and they were received. Then it all started slowing down and stories began to come back each time we questioned him. Thank God all monies signed for by Mr. Davidson. Job began beg. of Nov, 2019. Mr. Davidson kept dragging the job out, lying and not honoring timing of it. In mid January, jobs were only 1/2 complete. Caught Mr. Davidson in lies about where money given to him already which totaled $12.9K. He only did about $6K worth of work including material and labor. Now we CANNOT get in touch with him and he owes a little 84 year old lady $6.9K. Next step is formal complaint to be lodged and perhaps legal action. Very sad situation .... beware!!!! -
By SheilaMay 8, 2016Major Home remodel$100,00072 days
We have used D&G to remodel most of our home and they did absolutely OUSTANDING work. The owner is extremely honest. He threw in multiple add-ons cost-free that came out of his own time. I've never experienced such wonderful, personal, contracting. Thank You Joe.

By AnonymousApril 23, 2015siding and windows$15,000270 daysscammer
This contractor got all money up front for materials. After 6 months of constantly begging him to finish work on our house he stopped returning calls or texts. We have half our windows replaced, half our siding up, no trim work done and have NONE of the materials to finish the job. The windows he did install are a much cheaper brand than we insisted on. He removed the labels and tried to pass them off as what we wanted. We are in the process of taking legal action to get our $11,500.00 back. It has been 9 months since the job was started.

I wish I would have seen these reviews before we signed a contract with Joe Davidson under his current company, Black Birch Builders LLC. We signed a contract in Nov. 2022 for basement renovation and over the course of the next few months paid Mr. Davidson $40,000 plus cost of materials. It’s now June 2023 and our basement is unfinished. Over the last few months he has repeatedly told us he or someone else will be working at our home only for no one to show up. I can’t share photos on this site but they are on Google reviews if you want to see the current condition of our basement. In addition, we understand that Mr. Davidson has not paid several subcontractors that he hired to work on our basement. As others have stated please stay away from Mr. Davidson.
