My wife and I usually do a lot our homework when it comes to spending the money that we paid D&L for the installation to upgrade the AC in our house. Unfortunately because this company was installing AC at our neighbors house we jumped right in and broke our rule of not doing our homework. And boy did we end up paying for it. Really shoddy workmanship and the old "lets just get it done, get our money and get out of here" feeling I get from so many contractors. Not sure about you but I hate that feeling. So to the main problem. This company installed 3 Daikin wall units and 1 Daikin condenser, 2 years later we started having problems with one of the wall units shutting down, and eventually the whole system stopped operating. Because I had a really bad feeling about D&L I looked online and read really great reviews for Kona Air Conditioning and called Mike. He called me back and was at the house not long after. What he found was D&L had cross treaded a crucial flair fitting on the condenser. Because this fitting was soldered on a Christmas tree with 2 other soldered flair fittings the whole Christmas tree had to be replaced. This repair job cost us over $1300 and I know Mike did not charge me for all of the work involved. All and all he did a great repair job, plus he pressure tested and vacuum tested the system. When I called D&L he did nothing but deny, deny, and lie. Which to be honest it is exactly what I expected, he flat out told us he did not cross tread this fitting, even though I told him the condenser had not been touched since it was installed. Sure he might have been a little cheaper but do your homework, pay a little more and get a professional proper job to begin with. Do not hire D&L. Another thing I learned is D&L did not pressure test or vacuum test this system, if they had it would have failed. So don't hire D&L, call Mike or someone else that has great reviews. Mark O
