D2 was assigned via AHS. Contractor arrived, confirmed gas leak with gas meter. After looking at how the pipe was run he stated he did not have access to make repair. He would contact AHS and tell them he can’t perform the work due to a lack of access. I asked why he could not simply abandon line in wall and stub the pipe up through the floor or if I opened wall up for him to access the pipe would that work. He said he’d have a contact AHS. Later AHS contacted me and ask the claim was denied due to access. I called the contractor and left a voicemail stating I opened the opposite wall up so access is no longer an issue. He did not return my call. I contacted AHS and they sent another contractor out for a second option which found access not to be an issue. The job we are talking about is a leaking 1/2 inch black pipe 90. In order to perform the repair outside of AHS the contractor provided an estimate of 680.00. I was charged the trade service fee and my claim was denied because the contractor was unwilling to work with me within the claim and then wanted to charge a ridiculous fee for a simple repair.
I would avoid this contractor if at all possible. The other reviews are in the same vein as mine. Another contractor looking to take advantage of home owners.
There are good contractors out there who work with customers and are willing to think outside of the box. This is not one of them.
Update second contractor finished job. Stated there is no issue with access and that he has no idea why D2 would say they couldn’t access the pipe.
D2 are scammers taking peoples servicr trade fees through homeshield claiming work can’t be performed and not doing any work.
If they are assigned call AHS BACK AND TELL THEM TO ASSIGN A DIFFERENT CONTRACTOR
