We built our home 10 years ago with Doug Mckee and Daeco Builders. It's a large and expensive home on the Thornapple River. We noticed mice right away but the carpenters said it was common because the house was in the woods and the doors are open during construction. 8 years later we are overrun. Mice were nesting in my furniture and are seen in broad daylight. We had a pest control company come and they told us we had hundreds of mice in our home. I came down with LYME disease. To think I may have gotten it in my own home! Once the mice started to die, snakes fell out of the ceiling. SNAKES! Big snakes. 3 feet long. We found snake skins under the couch in the family room...so they had been there for a while. Then we became infested with termites. The products they used on the outside of the house was not for outside use. When Daeco came to repair the area where we suspected termits were, they used caulk on the house and charged us 5k, but when the painter came he refused to paint because the wood was wet and rotted. We gave Doug an opportunity to make things right he came out to the house and pretty much brushed us off. We had to spend 190K to fix the house. Doug Sumner Builders to the rescue. These guys spent months taking off all the trim and replacing it. I would recommend Doug Sumner a million times over. He stands behind his work, unlike Daeco.
