He put a new roof on for 9,000. Did it in one day. Now I have a leak and he won't even come look it. I now have to take him to court and sue.

Don't trust Gerard Daly, He likes to steal trucks and do things cheaply as possible. He is very much and old 19th Century interpretation of a twinkle eyed Irishman high stepping around the world with pigs under his arms saying things like, "I'll paint your house, but look out! I'll steal the ladder too!"

Based on the information in Buildzoom.com, we believed that Gerard Daly holes a current license (CS-086977). Daly accepted 50% of the payment, removed the old roofing, leaving it all over the driveway, and then never showed up again. In addition to the deposit, we suffered an additional $20K of water damage from rain before we could get another roofer. Because his license was not valid, we could not file a claim through the Contractor Guarantee Fund. Obviously you shouldn't hire Daly, but also don't trust the information in Buildzoom.com.
